Cowboys & Mistletoe (Week 2) – Shanna Hatfield

Howdy, friends! Happy Holidays to you!

I’m excited to be part of The Great Western Christmas Celebration. In fact, I have five new western Christmas books to share with you!

Covering Christmas by Shanna Hatfield

He wants a gold buckle. She needs a fresh start. But love—and a little girl—have other plans.

When the reigning world champion bareback rider retires, Keller Drake finally has a clear shot at claiming the title he’s chased for years, until an attorney corners him at a rodeo with life-altering news. Keller has a five-year-old daughter he never knew existed, and Ella’s late mother named him guardian in her will. Suddenly, the man who can ride the rankest broncs in the world is terrified of something far more dangerous—fatherhood.

As Keller fumbles his way through parenting, he discovers he’s not alone. Cobie Quinn, a sharp-witted reporter for All Things Rodeo, jumps in to help. What begins as a professional connection quickly deepens into a friendship filled with laughter, late-night talks, and a growing attraction Keller didn’t see coming.

After walking away from a broken engagement and a high-pressure job, Cobie thought covering rodeos across the Northwest would be nothing more than a temporary assignment. She didn’t expect to enjoy it—let alone lose her heart to a rugged cowboy and his sweet little girl. Then a new opportunity arises, forcing her to choose between long-held ambitions and a future she never imagined.

With the holidays approaching and Christmas joy in the air, Keller and Cobie must decide if they’re willing to take a chance on a future wrapped in faith, family, and the magic of the season.

Fall in love with Covering Christmas, a wholesome holiday romance sparkling with western charm, healing hearts, and Christmas cheer.

Silver Bell Sweethearts by Shanna Hatfield

Four generations of love. A legacy of craftsmanship.

Four stories of hearts finding joy as well as finding their way home.

Begin the legacy with A Joyful Ring– Enjoy the setting of 1876 Lovely, Oregon—a dusty little mining town where hearts are tender, snow is falling, and love is about to ring with Christmas joy. Gunder and Risa’s story will warm your heart faster than a mug of cocoa by the fire.

A Joyful Love  – A runaway woman and a hometown silver artisan discover that Christmas in a small Oregon town may hold more than snow and sleigh bells—it may hold the love they never knew they were searching for.

A Joyful Promise – Step back to 1957 and spend Christmas in the charming town of Lovely, Oregon—where a silver-crafting cowboy and a shy, artistic dreamer discover that the greatest gift may just be a promise of love.

A Joyful Home – Bo Birke’s silver artistry honors her family’s past—but horse trainer Rafe Judson may be her reason to dream about the future. Together, they might find a place to finally call home.

The Great Western Christmas Celebration

Now that we know what year it is, let’s talk about how Main Street might be decorated.

What do the storefronts look like? Are there any special window displays? Ribbons on the lamp posts? Again, anything goes, so long as it’s era-appropriate. Keep the year in mind so we don’t have electric lights in a Gold Rush era town or inflatables in the Roaring Twenties.

Everyone who leaves a response by Saturday 12/13 will get their name entered in the random drawing for a $10 Amazon gift card.

Every entry will also be eligible for our oh-so-beautiful Grand Prize – a gorgeous quilt hand made by our very own Jo-Ann Roberts

NOTE: ALL winners will be announced on Sunday 12/14.

Cowboys & Mistletoe – Our Period and Town Name

What fun it was reading everyone’s suggestions and responses to our Day 1 questions! You all are such a creative bunch. After reading through each and every comment and trying to pull out commonalities, this is what was decided we will be using going forward.

Time period: 1850s

Town Name: Hollyberry

Now, on to the next stage of our story!

Cowboys & Mistletoe (Week 2) – Jeannie Watt

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Years! I have a gift for you–my Christmas release (actually re-release) is free until December 16! If you follow the buy link you can add A Montana Christmas Homecoming to your holiday To Be Read pile. Happy Holidays!

A Montana Christmas Homecoming

This Christmas, home might be the best destination of all.

Jason Regan doesn’t do relationships or long-term commitments. His engineering firm keeps him constantly on the move, and that’s the way he likes it. But one quick trip to Holly, Montana, turns into an extended stay when a judge hands him community service at the town’s underfunded animal shelter.

Tess Evans traded courtroom battles for saving strays, pouring everything she has into the Forever Home Animal Shelter. With her make-or-break “Home for the Holidays” adoption event approaching, the last thing she needs is distraction… especially in the form of a broad-shouldered, maddeningly handsome volunteer who makes her pulse race.

Between fixing kennels, brushing shoulders in the supply closet, and chasing one mischievous terrier named Neville, their chemistry sparks hotter than a Christmas fire.

But Jason’s clock is ticking. Can a little holiday magic—and a lot of temptation—convince him that some things are worth staying for?

Cowboys & Mistletoe (Week 2) – Jo-Ann Roberts

Welcome, friends, to Week Two of our Cowboys and Mistletoe celebration!

In addition to writing sweet historical romance, my second love is quilting. For more than twenty years, a group of 8-10 friends has gotten together for Quilt Week. It’s a 10-day retreat in the Pennsylvania Amish Country. We rent a house, sharing the cost. From 9 am to 9 pm, we quilt, eat, get ice cream, shop for fabric, go out to eat, quilt…you get the picture. When we started, we came up with the idea of a Quilting Challenge. At the end of Quilt Week, we pick a new pattern or a line of fabric and come up with a quilt. The following year, we show off our creations. We have donated these quilts to shelters, veterans’ groups, and hospitals.

So, when author Zina Abbott asked me if I’d be interested in taking part in the Christmas Quilt Bride series, I gave a very enthusiastic “YES!” I already had the quilting background, so the stories came together quickly. I am so very pleased my fellow Fillies have graciously and enthusiastically accepted my offer to create this quilt for the Grand Prize.

Christmas Brides of Harmony by Jo-Ann Roberts

It’s nearing Christmas in Harmony, Kansas and the Circle of Friends Quilting group is planning the Annual Christmas Quilt Giveaway. Here, the quilts are stitched with love and where the quilter weaves dreams into reality, one thread at a time.

Noelle
A widow reluctant to love again…
A deputy determined to win her heart…
With Christmas looming, will the growing attraction between Noelle and the deputy reveal the gift of a second chance? Or could a stranger from the deputy’s past threaten the man who captured her heart?

Hope
He was the most stubborn and prideful man she’d ever met.
She was a busybody who stuck her nose in his business at every turn!
As Christmas approaches, will they look beyond each other’s faults and see a future blossom from a special, once-in-a-lifetime friendship?

Ivy
He was the town bully.
She was his target.
Had anything changed?

Was Ivy Sutton willing and able to forgive the boy who made her childhood unbearable?
Can Grady Walsh make up for the reckless actions of his youth?
Or will another steal her away before they have a chance to discover a kind of love that might heal the pain from the past?

Cowboys & Mistletoe Week 2 Is Coming!!

Week 1 of Cowboys and Mistletoe is behind us – I hope you all had as much fun participating as we had putting it all together! And if you got busy and didn’t get the chance to check out all the posts, don’t worry, you still have time. We’re including all the comments left up through early Saturday the 13th (we’ll need some time to pull everything together in order to announce our winners on Sunday the 14th)

Tomorrow we’re switching gears and moving on to Week 2 of our Cowboys & Mistletoe celebration.  There are 8 of us with new Christmas releases we are eager to share with you – so there will be 2 posts each day Monday 12/08-Thursday 12/11.

And of course, we want to have some fun while we do it. We’ll be playing a new game we’re calling “The Great Western Christmas Celebration”. The way it works is as follows:

Using a series of 8 questions, together we’ll write a VERY high-level story summary that will be only 8 or so lines long. There will be two questions a day, one to go with each of the 8 posts, and we’ll select answers and post them first thing the next morning, since some of these build on each other. It is our hope that you will really use your imaginations and have fun with this.

And to add to the fun, a $10 Amazon gift card will be randomly awarded to one respondent on each post (for a total of 8 winners!!). So be sure to stop by every day and join in the fun!

And don’t forget, in addition to the other prizes we’re offering,
all entries will also be eligible for our oh-so-beautiful Grand Prize – a gorgeous quilt hand made by our very own Jo-Ann Roberts

NOTE: ALL winners will be announced on Sunday 12/14.

Welcome to Day 5 of Cowboys & Mistletoe (Week 1)

Here are the Charms and clues for today, presented in no particular order:

I chose a music note to represent my story because until I fled for my safety, singing was both a pleasure and my career. I never imagined using my voice again, until a stranger shared his story and I learned I had the right to choose how to use my gift.

I chose a dog—specifically a sweet border collie—as my clue because of the distressing trouble haunting my beloved Christmas store. A handsome rancher who’s caught my  eye, then most decidedly my heart, loans me his guard dog, Zema, in hopes that will send the intruder packing.
