Make time on Friday, December 12, 2025 for Heidi Gray McGill! She’ll talk about her new Christmas book as well as a few facts about people living in years’ past. During the Great Western Migration, family wasn’t always near so folks were forced to depend on friends and neighbors to take the place of blood relatives.
Her new book, A Place to Belong, is about one woman’s experience.

When I'm not keepin' all these Fillies in line, I'm practicing my roping so I can catch me a cowboy. Darlin', me and Casper (my new mule) are two peas in a pod. Both of us are rad, bad, and proud. And that's no joke. Had to buy the critter some sunglasses to keep him happy.
Her’s is a good topic. As a military family, we often celebrated with found family and managed to have very nice Christmas Holidays.
With people not staying with one job like they used to, it’s meant moving a lot and if you don’t reach out and create families, it can be very lonely!
