I have ridden in a wagon and can imagine how wearing it would be for the months it took to cross the country. This sounds good.
I can’t wait to read this book. I am sure that wagon travel was very unpleasant at times. I am so glad we don’t have to travel that way now.
What I have read is that mist women walked along side a wagon unless they were the one driving the heavily loaded wagon. I have the impression that to drive a wagon took considerable strength/ will to control the team over little more than ruts (still seen in some areas of various famous trails).
I can only imagine! So glad that I live in modern times.
