Howdy, y’all! Felicia Filly here, back from another visit with one of our Petticoats & Pistols Fillies. I’ve got a few clues for you, so see if you can figure out who welcomed me into her home.
I’d barely stepped through the door before she offered me a cup of her favorite beverage – tea. She served it in a Texas mug, saying she wanted me to feel right at home. That longhorn staring out from the side made me grin.

Seems she has a fondness for Texas. Turns out she lives just a hop, skip, and a jump from the Texas line, so I reckon we’re practically neighbors.
Then I spotted a bookcase with some of her teapots. Friends, she has quite a collection! I was admiring the butterflies and frogs when a cow-shaped pot caught my eye. I asked if it poured tea or just kept the rest of the herd in line. My hostess laughed, and said that one was a nod to her hubby who happens to be a cattle rancher.

On my way past the china cabinet, I noticed a dragonfly on a cup. Then I saw another, and another. Turns out these are only a few of the dragonflies she’s collected over the years. They’re scattered all over her house and I reckon I could spend a whole afternoon looking for the rest.

One piece on the wall stopped me in my tracks. It’s a beautiful cross-stitch her baby sister made for her after her very first book was published. She’s kept it all these years in a place of honor on her dining room wall, and I could tell by the way she spoke of it that it means a great deal to her.

Now, I know it isn’t Christmas yet, but I got a peek inside a closet packed with decorations. My hostess says she has enough to decorate half a dozen trees, so she rotates what she puts out each year. I asked if she had a map to find her way through all those boxes. She said there are teacup ornaments in there somewhere, along with some for book lovers (if you look really close you might spot one of them). I wished her luck finding specific ones come December.

Before I left, I asked her to show me one of her books. She picked an early favorite and pointed out the little Yorkie on the cover. His name is Poppy, and from what she tells me, that pup manages to steal the show a time or two. I do have a soft spot for a scene-stealing critter.

So, have you guessed which Filly I’ve been visiting? Leave her name in the comments for a chance to win. And if you’re certain you know, don’t give away which clue tipped you off. Let’s leave a little mystery for the next reader!
