This has been an exciting and hectic year for me writing-wise.

Re-releasing older books and now a new one. I’m at 8 books releasing this year. Crazy and fun.

The new one is book #2 in the Rocky Mountain Marshals Series.

I do NOT have my author’s copies yet but soon. So maybe I’ll get them in time so you get YOUR copy (if you win) before the book releases.

The Hearts Most Wanted

I LOVE that cover with the cowboy on the horse. I don’t think I’ve had many horses on my covers. It seems so obvious, and yet…not many. Look at the trees in the back ground. it’s autumn in the Rockies and it’s autumn (all most) here. I’ve seen the first signs of trees changing color and the first semi-cool nights after a long, hot summer.

So does anyone have a comment about all the re-releases? Have you forgotten there is still new work? I love having these books gain new life, but I don’t like doing anything that detracts from the new books. What do you think? Are you overloaded with Mary Connealy books? Or do you read a new book a month by authors you love no problem?

  1. ‘Fraid I’m an author’s worst nightmare, Mary. I borrow most of my books from the public library and purchase very few. I’m fine with re-releases if I’ve not read them already. I don’t usually read books again.

  3. I was glad when the new releases came out because I know I had not read all of them when they were first published. Always look forward to new books also.

  4. I don’t mind re-releases. Sometimes I may miss a miss a book when it first releases. I always look forward to new books.

If it’s a book I bought a long time ago, I do get confused when a book is reissued later with a new cover because I may forget I had that book or it’s not shelved properly and I end up buying the same book twice, or even more times. I don’t have my books in all one place like I need to. I also need a system for keeping up with them. It’s safe to say I don’t think I have this book, nor have I read it.

  9. I’m not a huge fan of re-releases, just for the fact that, most of the time, I prefer the original cover. And if there is bonus material added to the new book, I feel like I need to buy it, but I don’t always have the money, so I feel like I’m missing out.

  10. I’m loving all the releases! It’s made waiting for The Heart’s Most Wanted easier, I think. I’ve been getting the audiobook versions of the rereleases and it’s been fun to revisit some books I’ve already enjoyed and experience some for the first time.

    • I’m a big re-readers, Christy. I go to the library a LOT but I also have a collection of favorites…way too big of a collection. Someone needs to pry them out of my hands while there’s still space in my house!

  11. I love your books. I don’t think the new ones come fast enough ?. I didn’t get any of the books you re-released because I already have them, but for those that don’t, they are in for a real treat. They have some of my favorite characters you have wrote about.

  12. It’s been so long since the original books that I don’t remember much of them so it’s new all over again! This is a problem of being ancient and reading a lot!

  15. The re-releases alert me to books that may have been published before I was introduced to the author. Once I find an author I love, I like being alerted to the books I might have missed by that author.

  17. If I really enjoyed the book I will reread it. I think I may have reread your book The Husband Tree, and a few other books that I really liked because sometimes I forget how they end but it comes back to me while reading. So I don’t mind a re-release at all.

  18. I enjoy re-reading books that I love as it seems I often find things that I may have missed the first time reading it, so I enjoy when authors re-release books. I find that books can be enjoyed over and over again. I really like the cover of the new book – I think the horse creates an image of the Marshal and the setting that invites the reader in to the story.

  19. I love the new covers. I am not overwhelmed by the releases. I enjoy when new books are given new life with a new cover. You have done a fabulous job of letting fans know which books are being released with new covers as well as the new releases. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you.

  20. I read on my Kindle. I used to get books at the Library but now most everything is available on Kindle. My nieces don’t want to have to dispose of my personal library when I’m gone! Rereleases are great but I wish somewhere in the narrative it would say what/when the original date was. (Some authors even change titles!) I hate to get to the second chapter and realize I’ve already completed the book and know what is happening next.

  21. I’m on my 10th book of the month! Some were books from my TBR stack that’s out of control, and some were ones that will be releasing soon as they’re ARCs. I pre-order a few, and some I order after reading one in a series. Re-releases are tricky for me, to be honest. I’ve read all of the ones you re-released, my church library still has the original releases!

  22. If I love an author and the way they write, I can read one book after another of theirs. I love all your books that I have read. Thanks for all your hard work.

  23. I love your books , to be honest I haven’t read any of your books till Petticoats and Cowboys came out and I’m hooked !! I’m actually reading book 6 now about Abby and Wade , so glad they’re finally having their story. I’m definitely going to be reading your new series and any future books as you have a new fan for sure!!

  24. I love to read. I read printed books only. I haven’t read your books yet, but they are on my TBR list. I go to the library to get books, too. I get books from authors, Amazon, and other stores online as well as bookstores.

  25. I like to see books get a make over.
    I don’t reread a lot of books. They have to really grip me for a second read.

  27. I’m so happy that you re-released your Petticoats Ranch etc. They are my absolute favorite and I reread them every couple of years so I’m super happy they are Kindle unlimited right now. I did get one of your new ones at the bookstore last year. I think it was this series so now I have to decide how I’m going to read #2!

  31. If I read a re-release book, it’s usually because I didn’t read it when it was first released. I didn’t find your books until a few years ago. I’ve read all of them since then, but I haven’t had the time to go back and read your earlier ones. I read a lot of ARCs for my favorite authors (like you, Mary!), so I sometimes don’t get to all the back list ones. Too many books, too little time!

  37. I love your books and am excited about the rereleases. It means others can now discover jewels they missed and I might be able to replace a book or two that I have completely worn out. I enjoy visiting old friends (books), but I also love when I can meet a new friend. Even better when that friend comes fast ?
