My next book releases in December, and I’m trying something new for the launch. Cloaked in Beauty is the third book in my Texas Ever After series, and it wil be a mash-up of Little Red Riding Hood and Sleeping Beauty.
Here’s a little snippet of the plot: Raised in isolation with only her grandmother and her pet wolf for company, Letty Hood must learn to trust the Pinkerton agent tasked with her protection as she embarks on a journey to face her destiny and the dragon who has sought her destruction for the last 15 years.
I’ve watched other authors offer bonuses to readers who preorder their books, and I’ve always thought it would be fun to try. So after talking with my marketing team this fall, I’m taking the plunge!
.
The first 250 readers who preorder Cloaked in Beauty from Baker Book House will receive three bonus goodies. A custom bookmark that features the entire series, a fun vinyl sticker, and an autographed book plate.
.
Even better than the goodies, preordering from Baker gives you a 40% discount on the retail price along with free shipping. Yay!
.
.
If you have already preordered the book from Baker Book House, you are already in line to receive the goodies.

In addition to the preorder goodies, I also want to share some bookish goodies with you. I recently attended a writing conference in Phoenix, where I got to meet up briefly with fellow filly, Cathy McDavid. I also had the chance to pick up some free books, including these three western reads!

One person who leaves a comment will receive all three of these books. Just tell me about your favorite place to read during the fall season. Indoors? Outdoors? Hammock? Reading Chair? Front porch swing? Bed? Pumpkin patch? Hay loft? Where do you go for the perfect fall reading experience?

When the weather is cooler, I love to sit outside and read. I have a nice big comfortable rocking chair to sit in.
That sounds lovely, Ann. I adore rocking chairs!
Outdoors is my favorite place to read is right now.
I love the idea of reading outdoors, but I keep going back to my living room recliner. One of these days, I need to install a cushiony porch swing or something to lure me outside.
A hammock or a porch with a blanket is a fun fall place. Otherwise inside by a window to see the leaves and clouds!
I love window seats! Especialy if you have a pretty view. Sounds wonderful, Susan.
park
A pretty park can be lovely. Especially if it has an inviting bench. 🙂
Inside, in a chair, thank you very much for the giveaway!
That’s where I usualy end up as well, Bridgette.
my chair
The right chair is like a best friend. Always ready for company. 🙂
GM Karen! I love to read outside when it is cooler. Usually in my recliner facing my French doors so I can see my yard. Thanks for the giveaway!
Oh, I love French doors. All that light and the pretty scenery. I don’t have any, or much of a yard to look at (I’m a terrible gardiner), but yours sound beautiful!
¹i love western romances! I love reading them on my Kindle day or night
Sounds like an interesting plot.
I generally read in bed.
The older I get, the harder it is for me to stay awake when I read, so bed is a dangerous place for me. 🙂
I usually read in bed before going to sleep.
The perfect way to wind down at the end of the day. 🙂
I have my favorite chair for reading.
There’s something so cozy about a favorite chair. I have one, too. 🙂
I like to end my day by reading before I turn off the light and go to sleep.
Reading is so relaxing. Unless it’s a suspense novel, I supose. Ha!
I have really enjoyed sitting in my mom’s recliner I received when she passed. I am curled up under blankets I also received from my parents with special memories. It doesn’t get better than this. ??
How wonderful to have those special memories “hug” you as you read, Barbara. Love that!
For me, sitting on my loveseat with my two pets curled up next to me is the best.
Reading buddies are so snuggly! Sounds cozy, Nyla.
during the fall I love to read in the recliner with my two cats nearby and a cup of hot tea.
Me, too! Well, I don’t have cats nearby but I do have a husband in the chair next to me who “purrs” when he dozes off. Ha!
I love to read while sitting on a comfy couch or chair with a cat or two near
That sounds so cozy, Erralee!
I love reading in my recliner.
I’m a recliner girl, too, Linda. 🙂
I usually read in my rocker inside in the A/C, since I live in Florida, but sometimes on the rare occasions we cool off, I love to sit on my back porch and read while sitting either on the glider or one of my Cracker Barrel rockers!!
I love rocking chairs! So nostalgic and soothing. I hope you are safe with the storms in that area, Trudy.
Where I read depends on the time I am reading. More often than not I am reading in my bed. However I do enjoy sitting out in the sun reading when the temps get a little cooler in Texas.
We have so few days that are nice to be outdoors in Texas. Got to take advantage of the few we have. 🙂
I love to read while sitting in the car with the windows open at lunch or waiting for my kids to finish their activities.
A good book makes the wait fly by. 🙂
Inside the house, in my chair, in the spare room where I have my computer. I get distracted outside, there’s too many other things to watch, like rabbits, squirrels and birds.
Squirrel! LOL.
Cozy chair by sunny window.
That sounds perfect, Sarah!
I sit on my patio here in Arizona where I can hear the birds and see my flower garden. I also have my faithful friend sitting at my feet-Katie the terrier keeps me company while I read.
What a lovely picture you painted, Joye. That sounds like a little piece of heaven.
I sit in my rocker/glider chair most of the time. When it’s time to get my granddaughter from school, I read while waiting for her.
I have a glider too, and I love it! Though it’s not my main reading chair. We bought it when we had our first baby 26 years ago. 🙂
Good morning, in the Fall, I love to read outside on our patio swing that is in our backyard if the weather isn’t too cold. If the weather is cold I love reading in our living room couch with a throw blanket on me and my pup sitting right next to me . Thank you so much for the chance, these books all look like Great reads. Have a great day and a great rest of the week.
I’ve always loved porch swings. They are so nostalgic. Maybe someday I’ll have one of my own. 🙂
May favorite place to read in the Fall, is on the sofa in my living room, with a comfy throw, a mug of flavored coffee, my puppy and a good book. I love reading outside on the front porch, but usually stay in so I can be with the puppy. When I read outside. I have all the same things with me minus the puppy, our road is traveled too much to have her with me. Fall is my favorite season and I love the sweater weather and snuggling under my throw reading. Thank you for this generous opportunity. ????
Cozy reading is the best. Fuzzy socks, snuggly pets, and a warm drink. Love it!
I love reading on our balcony porch swing when the weather is nice. ?
That sounds lovely, Bridget!
My favorite place to read is my recliner with my dog by my side and a cup of tea.
Sign me up for the recliner and tea! I love dogs, but my hubby has an allergy, so we are pet free. Unless you count all the stuffed animals I bought for my youngest son every time he asked for a pet. Ha!
I Love reading in my bed of the evening under my soft throw blanket! Have A Blessed Day!
A cozy throw and a good book sound like the perfect recipe for relaxation, Sarah!
Sprawled across my bed is my favorite place to read all year round…
Nice! I have trouble getting comfortable in bed without falling asleep, so I usually opt for the chair. My daughter is a bed reader, though. Loves it!
I enjoy sitting on my big living room sofa looking out the big window as the wind blows or the rain is falling. And I also have the door open to look at the mountains especially when reading a cowboy/ historical read. Fall ? ? weather is so cozy with a book and a cup of Avena. (Mexican creamy hot drink) ?
A view of the mountains??? I can’t think of anything better to pair with a good cowboy read. 🙂
Anywhere that’s somewhat quiet and alone, but my all time favorite is on a swing under an oak tree, where I can hear the birds singing in the cool fall weather.
Oh, that sounds heavenly, Rebecca. So peaceful.
My bed under my comfy comforter
Snuggly is a wonderful way to read. 🙂
I love to read in my rocking chair in the corner between two BIG windows where I can watch the clouds and birds in the yard or trees. A cup of tea is nice too. I can also watch the cows and any new fall calves.
It sounds like you have a marvelous view, Alice. So glad you have big windows to enjoy it.
I have my living room set up just like I want it, and that’s where I enjoy reading the most ?
There’s something so comfortable about being in a favorite space that is arranged just for you. Sounds like a great spot, Mark!
love to read in my front porch rockers!
There is nothing more homey than a front porch rocker. I think that’s why I love Cracker Barrel so much. Ha!
A sunny spot on the deck is a great place to read on a Fall day.
That sounds so peaceful and nice, Alice.
My front porch glider when the weather is nice. My reading room when the weather is not so nice.
You have your own reading room??? How fun!
My front porch glider when the weather is nice. My reading room when the weather is not so nice.
I usually read in my bed.
Might as well be comfy!
I enjoy reading in my bed where there are no distractions and I keep my room nice and cool.
Having no distractions is a big plus and rare for me.
I like reading indoors in a comfortable chair or in bed.
Having a controlled environment is nice. That’s where I usualy end up, too.
I like to read in bed or in my recliner. Thanks for the giveaway!!
Both comfy places!
In the cooler weather I like to read indoors more specifically in my Bedroom in my bed half laying and half sitting up against two pillows.
Love books ? like this and really like and appreciate Harlequin inspired books
Looking forward to reading these books ? in print, would love to win these books so I could read them
Thanks for the chance to win
Sounds like you have a good reading system, Crystal. 🙂
I enjoy reading at my kitchen table. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you.
I read at the kitchen table when I’m eating, but I like a more cushiony spot for long term reads. 🙂
In our family room by our patio sliding glass door… outside is a little chilly due to the breeze but it is pretty outside.
My favorite place is my comfy recliner which also has a built-in cupholder and I have a side table that holds my books and a snack if I want one. I also have a soft blanket and a pillow for support.
One of my favorite places to read is my husband’s comfy recliner. I can automatically adjust it & he has the perfect light over it.
When it’s warm, I also enjoy sitting out either in the front or back yard & enjoying the out of doors while I read.
For me it would be a recliner but usually have to find another room to read in because husband keeps the TV turned up to loud for me to read in the recliner.
Nice weather on my front porch glider. Not so nice weather in my reading room
My favorite place to read in the Fall is on our sunroom, but I will read any where I can get the time.
Always, curled up in my bed.
On the porch
Depending on the weather. If it’s a beautiful fall day I’ll go to a state park go on small hike than sit at a table an read with beautiful nature surrounding me. But if its bad weather then i snuggle on the couch with my furbabies, happy and cozy.
