It is ALMOST TIME for the exciting conclusion of the Western Light Series.

In book #1, Chasing the Horizon, my heroine Beth, helped her mother Ginny escape from an insane asylum and ran for safety in the wild west. Beth found love along the way.

In book #2 Toward the Dawn, my heroine Kat finds she can’t stand living cut off from the world in the Hidden Canyon where Ginny and her family have gone to hide. Kat escaped from the asylum with Ginny and danger awaits outside those claustrophobic canyon walls.

Now, in book #3, Ginny has to turn and face her tyrant of a husband. She’s been hiding for years now, but the time has come to face the threat with hopes of freeing the other woman locked away with her. She recruits Maeve O’Toole to help with child care…Beth has three children now. And Dakota Harlan comes along to add his strength to their numbers.

Maeve is going along at least in part to get away from trouble at home. And Dakota is embroiled in a family feud and needs to get away from his ranch while he tries to figure out how to stop the personal war that’s tormenting him.

Into the Sunset

Will the sun set on their chance at happiness before they can seize it?

To finally escape the clutches of her controlling husband and the threat of being recommitted to an asylum, Ginny Rutledge enlists the help of her friends, Maeve O’Toole and Dakota Harlan. Fleeing their own tumultuous pasts, the group embarks on a journey to prove Ginny’s sanity. However, as they confront the shadows they wish they could forget, danger looms from unexpected places.

Maeve grapples with her mother’s impending remarriage and seizes a rare chance to escape her homestead–but that means reuniting with Dakota, the man she holds responsible for her father’s death, who is caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful family. As the two of them navigate their shared history and a dangerous mission, Dakota is forced to confront his deepest fears and fight for the woman who has unwittingly captured his heart.

  1. I enjoy series- I find them fun to binge read, I do wait and then read the books in order… 3 books are best , but that isn’t set in stone. …and of course the kissing

    • Good morning, Abbie! I have a few series I read that only come out ONCE A YEAR! One was a seven book series. I can’t wait that long. Seven years to read it. But sometimes I forget what happened before if I read them as they release!

  2. I love series. I generally read them in order, but sometimes I read them out of order. I don’t wait.

    romance and kissing

  3. I enjoy reading a series in order and I prefer to have the whole series when I start one. I am a quick reader so waiting for the next book to come out is hard 🙂
I love to get lost in the story, so the adventure, suspense and romance are all part of escaping into it. I especially enjoy a book that can make me laugh and cry and cheer for the underdog.

    • Lots of times I’ll discover a series after it’s already out. Then I binge it. But when I start at the beginning as the release it’s so so so so hard for me to resist just starting book #1 and then WAITING.

  4. I always read a series in order if I can, and they are a true series, not just a collection with a theme but no interlocked stories. I much prefer the kissing, although some suspense or tense moments are good.

  5. I like to read the whole series at once when possible but I also will read one book at a time and when the third book comes out I will reread the first two. I like the romance along with the suspense.

  6. I try to read series in order but it doesn’t always happen that way. I don’t always wait until they are all out to start reading them because sometimes you never know when a series will actually end either. I like both the kissing and the suspense.

  7. Mary – I just love your books and enjoyed meeting you in Deadwood. You sure keep my attention throughout your stories. I’m either laughing, holding tight in suspense, or dreaming about cowboys and their forever after. Congratulations on another phenomenal series!

  8. I try to read them in order, but sometimes its not possible, so I try to catch up from book one before I read the rest.

  9. I love series, and if I know it’s all connected with characters whose stories carry over from one story to another, I like to read them in order, especially if the series is written by the same author. However, if it’s a series written by different authors, I tend to only read the books by one or two authors, and not the whole series. And, in westerns, I really like both the shooting and the kissing! I’ve read some of Louis L’Amour books and watched the movies from his books, so I still imagine Sam Elliott in my head for quite a few voices of heroes in books!

  10. I like books in a series but only want 4 books in it. If there are more, it is often hard to find all of them to complete the series,
This book sounds really good. I like the title.

  11. I, enjoy series books also. However, 3 books are good for me. I, do try to read them in their order.
I, like the kissing & the shooting. What’s a good book without both…
    Your reader,

  12. I prefer to wait until the whole series is out so i can binge read them all without having to wait for the next book and i do like to read them in order, i like the romance when its balanced with action as well

  13. I do enjoy a good series but I don’t like waiting for them to come out. Sometime it seems forever before the next book comes out, then you forget what the other book was about.

  14. I am a mood reader. It depends upon my mood, what I read. Sometimes I read a series as it is released and sometimes I wait until the entire series is complete to read it.

  15. I prefer to read the series in order, and I enjoy a series if it isn’t overly long. I have read a series that could have been several good length books. Instead it was a 42 book series. Not very satisfying.

Starting to read this series now. They sound really exciting.

  16. I almost have an OCD-like compulsion to read series in order. Even if it is a series by multiple authors and each book can be a stand-alone, I still need to read them in order. I’ve discovered a lot of new-to-me authors that way that I’ve gone on to love! I also don’t feel the need to wait until they are all released – I don’t mind the torture. lol

I love everything about Western romances – the kissing and the shooting! ? I love it when a good romance has a plot OTHER THAN the romance. I love books to have some substance to them! The romance can be the main thing but there needs to be a really good story behind it.

  17. I do read series in order and prefer they don’t have cliff hangers. I read the books as they come out. Most of the books I read, I receive as an ARC. I have to leave my review before the next book in the series comes out. Of course, I like the romance and kissing, but I enjoy reading a good story to go with that.

  18. I love this series and can’t wait to read this last book. Your books are always so full of faith, but adventure and suspense as well.

  19. Hi Mary! I prefer to read the series in order. I am never patient enough to wait to read them until the whole series is out. I read them as they come out and will reread them before the next one if it’s been a while.

As to Kissing or Shooting, the answer is YES! because I need them both in the story. The more, the better. ? So excited for this next book!!!

  20. I will read books out of order in a series and usually go back and read the first ones. I like the cowboys in Westerns along with their dogs and horses no matter what they are doing.

  21. I enjoy reading a series from beginning to end & find it exciting when I have to wait to see what happens. Does it match what I foreseen in my imagination?
To your second question, I enjoy both the romance & the shooting. In my book, they go hand in hand, multiple storylines are much more interesting than a single plotline.

  22. I like to read series in order, I like them both the kissing and the shooting in westerns. Your series sounds Great! Have a great weekend.

  23. I do not always read a series in order. I enjoy the kissing more than shooting. Thank you so much for sharing and the opportunity. God bless you.

  24. I almost always read series in order. It helps to know what happened before and how that world works.
I have to wait until the whole series is out because I get impatient for the next book. I’m a fast reader.
How can you pick a favorite part out of a good book? But I enjoy the banter before the kiss.

  25. I try to always read a series in order. There have been times when I have gotten a book and not realized it was part of a series. I I like it, I will get the series and read it in order.

  26. Hey Mary! I like to read the series in order and prefer the kissing more than the shooting. Great series! Thanks for sharing.

  27. I dont mind reading series out of order. Sometimes I will wait until the first one comes out and then start. Depends on the author I like both the kissing an the shooting.

  28. I always read a series in order as I feel like I’ll be missing out on something if I don’t. I will read them as they come out but prefer to read them back to back so I don’t forget anything, which happens when too much time passes between releases. If I have to pick a preference, it’s kissing over shooting, but I prefer reading about the everyday life of the characters. Thanks for the chance to win a book.

  29. I always prefer to read series in in order! I don’t mind reading each book as it comes out since I’m not good at waiting for the whole series before starting the first book!
I love this series and can’t wait for the conclusion!
I think kissing probably qualifies as my favorite part.
