It rings a little hollow to thank those who gave it all on Memorial Day. They aren’t here anymore to appreciate any gratitude. However, I still feel it and respect and honor their sacrifice.
On this day, we’ll take a short break from our usual historical sharing. I have a free book I’d love to offer you and I hope you have a day to relax and reflect. You’ll find 94 books available here including mine, Wherever the Road Will Lead.
Thank you so much to all of you for joining us every day. Have a blessed day.
Thanks to our military!
Agreed!
Thanks to our armed forces and their sacrifice. It is truly a time to honor and respect them all.
Yes, much appreciation for those who have sacrificed their lives so that we are free.
I’ll admit it bothers me that people treat Memorial Day like another Veteran’s Day. Memorial Day is for those who gave their all in a war for us, those who never made it home, not those still here and who didn’t die in service to our country. The older I get, the more I make that distinction!
Yes, my father is a veteran and he taught me to respect the difference as I grew up.
There are some veterans who may not have given their life, but have given other things such as their health, their marriages, or whatever. My husband served in Vietnam and has Parkinson’s (agent orange) and ptsd also from Vietnam. I feel veterans today are honored as a stand-in for those who have died.
There are so many who have given so much.
In memory of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice…
Amen. Thank you.
A Great Big Thank you to all who served our Country and sacrificed so much.
Yes, thank you.
Thank you for all who gave everything for my freedom.
Yes, thank you!
I’m sorry I haven’t responded today. This morning we lost internet, leaving me with only my phone so I could see comments, but not reply to them. Then this afternoon we were hit by a line of storms and lost a few trees. We are fine, the house is fine, all our outbuildings are fine, only 2 trees were lost. I hope everyone had a calm and relaxing memorial. Much more quiet than mine!
