Did you watch Classic TV westerns back in the day? If so, this quiz is right up your alley. All you have to do is to match the horse to the cowboy or cowgirl. I’ll name the cowboy, you name the horse in the comment section.
The winner will receive a $10 Amazon gift certificate and a copy of my next book, Her Cowboy Boss, when it releases on August 27th. Winners will be chosen by random drawing from those who get all eight answers correct.
Ate you ready to go? To help jog your memory, I’ve included a name bank, but be warned—there are more names than questions.

Jeannie Watt raises cattle in Montana and loves all things western. When she's not writing, Jeannie enjoys sewing, making mosaic mirrors, riding her horses and buying hay. Lots and lots of hay.

Fury was my favorite horse growing up. I always wanted a horse like Joey had with Fury.
I have an interesting story about Tom Mix, when I was a newborn I lived in an incubator for 26 days in Ft. Worth’s Children Hospital fighting for my life. Tom Mix visited me. Of course I don’t recall it, but my parent’s sure do. He was a supporter of the hospital and donated money to help the sick children.
Great & fun game.

Wow, Tonya! That’s so interesting. How nice of him to visit. I think the two most famous horses are Silver and Trigger. Almost everyone knows them.
What a wonderful story, Tonya! Thank you for sharing!
I loved the old Westerns and had the biggest crush on Roy Rogers. Then as I became an adult I’d sit with my Dad to watch all the reruns.

This was fun, but I honestly don’t know any of the answers other than Silver for the Lone Ranger, Scout for Tonto, and Trigger for Roy Rogers. I have no idea who Tom Mix is!! I only know Roy Rogers because a friend likes him. I’ve never even watched any of most of these shows!! I have seen a few old Roy Rogers shows on stations that show old shows. I know Gunsmoke, Laramie (thanks to reruns!), Wagon Train (watched the color ones!), and my very first absolute favorite The Guns of Will Sonnet.
Oh my goodness, Trudy–The Guns of Will Sonnet! What a great show and I totally forgot about it. I found the first two seasons on Amazon. I may have to invest…
I had the biggest crush on Dack Rambo, though I was only 7 the year it ended!! Loved him on the Gunsmoke spinoff, Dirty Sally, too!
that was great. Some I knew and some I had to look for.

When I went to camp as a kid, they had horseback riding and my fav horse was named Jackpot! 🙂
That’s a great name, Colleen! I’ve never come across a horse named Jackpot and I lived in Nevada for 30 years. You think there would have been one in my area.
