Ambush of the Heart landed on
for the week ending February 7.
A new book releasing is always full of excitement and lots of work and…admit it…terror.
Okay, maybe i’m overstating that. It’s never the podcast, it’s the tech.
Can I get my computer to log on. Can I get the microphone to work.
One time, trying it back and forth with my laptop and my phone…I could get the SOUND to work on the laptop and the PICTURE to work on the phone.
But neither had both.
Then finally, with podcasters so patient it qualifies as saintly behavior, we get started and then it’s fun. Nice ladies, mostly ladies, great questions. Lots of laughter.
I always have such a great time on podcasts but BEFORE the podcasts I can really get frazzled.
If you’d like to see that bestseller list or listen to either one of those podcasts, click the link above.
How are you with tech? Is it really because I forgot how to do things? Or is it changing so fast, even an MIT graduate is being left behind…and trust me…I’m not MIT graduate..
Tell me the most frustrating thing that’s ever happened to you with a computer, a phone, maybe a credit card, or a car telling you to BE CAREFUL. Mine always beeps warnings when I’m backing out of my garage. The walls have NOT MOVED and I HAVE to back through them.
Still, the beeping continues.

Next month yet another new book is coming. I’m releasing some older works. Books I love that I’d love to see get a new life.
Book one is Petticoat Ranch. A book a month for six months.
We’ll talk about them…next month and every month for a while.
Leave a comment about computer battles to get your name in a drawing for a signed copy of Ambush of the Heart.

My hard drive crashed and I lost everything. We tried recovering it, but nothing was there.
I hate this, Denise. I;m compulsive about backing up. This terrifies me.
I am technologically challenged. I seriously would like a set of the Dummie books ? for the social media accounts I have, one for Gmail/ Google and some of the other apps I have. As well as one for training puppies, one for adopting a shelter or foster dog and so on to help me get with the program and be more technologically savvy.….lol
Computer battles were ALIVE and REAL during the pandemic trying to teach elementary students when school was closed. What a trying time for students, parents, and school staff. Teachers were having problems teaching at school and home while students and parents were having having problems at home or wherever they were staying. It was constant frustration for ALL!!!! We were so glad when we had our students at school again.
You try to log onto a website like you have done a hundred times. All of a sudden, they need to verify your identity. What??? I Am Not A Robot.
When you sign into a site only to discover your password has been changed and you didn’t change it.
The great battles of alexander
I’ve had several mishaps with my personal computer but my major headaches have been work-related. Once our library became automatic, it was as if we had no concept of stamping due dates or searching for a book title in a card catalog! A physical card catalog that know ling exists! Technology us truly a double -edged sword!
annoying ads popping up
Good morning Mary! Lordie, I can’t name them all! LOL not saying much, but the Boss(my husband) is worse than me! He was in power line work for almost 50 years. Can you imagine them giving him a laptop? I was on a computer in the 80’s. Then went to the school system, and they weren’t updated like the banking system. I went back in time for 20 years! Then, like you said, you can’t keep up with how quickly the technology changed! Unreal.
I was excited to see your Petticoats and Cowboys were KindleUnlimited! Yay! We are on a limited budget now that we are retired, so good to see! Wish I could read your Ambush of the Heart though! Love those rugged men!
Best wishes to you Mary!
Whenever I have problems with my laptop or my cell phone, I ask a granddaughter or my daughter (lives 2 miles away) for help. If I try to take care of it, I only it worse.
Oh where to start…. I have an older computer. Extremely slow, mainly used for my 3rd graders homework. If the computer gets unplugged or electricity goes off I have to push the power button, let it load some, push the power button to turn it off, then after a few seconds push the power button again so it will actually come on all the way. After hitting “ignore” on some notification about the clock (have no idea what that is about) it boots up enough for me to enter my password. Once I get through the password phase (which takes a lot of starting to type to see if it’s ready for the password to be entered)? five minutes it’s loaded and ready to do homework, at it’s own pace of course???????????
Hey Christie…my daughter had an old laptop…OLD…and she (I’ll try and get this right) erased everything, the search engine the browser, all the files and pictures, music, games, apps…because they were ready to toss it, it was so useless.
They stripped everything off it they could get off and loaded Chrome. It’s supposed to be really simple and not take a lot of .. space? is that the word? On a computer.
It works good enough to really use now.
Ambush of the Heart sounds good. I’ve had many mishaps with my computer.
Our daughter gave us an Alexa for Christmas several years ago. We have recently changed internet providers and now Alexa won’t work. Anytime you try to ask her anything she says, “I’m sorry I’m having trouble connecting to the internet”. The other night my husband was watching something on tv with a person named Alexa in it. You can imagine what happened, Yep, everytime she heard someone say ‘her’ name, it was “I’m sorry I’m having trouble connecting to the internet”. I have tried everything I know to fix her but no luck. She keeps saying check the help section in the app. But, I can’t find the help section. LOL Our granddaughter is coming this weekend she can probably fix it with no trouble. The younger generation!
I was a paralegal for 40+ years, but also worked with and studied computer technology, so one law firm I worked at decided that I should also be their Systems Administrator. Let me tell you, you cannot imagine the computer “problems” that come with working with lawyers who are new to the technical world! LOL
I get frustrated at having to update the system, when it’s working fine- to then have it not work the way it was due to the update. I am also frustrated when a system can no longer be updated- so you are almost forced to buy a new one, even though your current one is perfectly fine. Technology is great but at times completely frustrating.
I am on a first name basis with the Geek Squad!
I am not very good at social media.
I am very grateful for my guru Son!
My biggest problem has been being banned from Facebook. I have no idea why. I tried to inquire, but the bots are running the show. I did not get anywhere. I believe that God was in the banning. It has opened the door for more reading and time with my husband. Thank you for the opportunity. God bless you.
I’m not super tech savvy but can do some basic computer stuff on my own, for most complicated things I tend to ask my brother, he is tech savvy.
Computers can really get to you when they don’t do what you want them to do. When I have a lot of problems I just holler at my son to take care of it. He is the IT person at our local library so I let him take care of it and I don’t have to deal with it. Its kind of nice just to have him around for that. I can be very frustrating though.
Good morning, I like technology, even though I am not very tech savvy at all. Alot of times my husband will help me, but when he isn’t my grandson helps me, he is pretty good at technology stuff. Updates on computers are nice, but sometimes it was better before the updates. Thank you for the chance. Have a great weekend.
Computer battles -the computer always seems to win. But I believe I am the one that needs the help.
I’m a school substitute teacher and computers are used for a lot now. More than once I’ve had my computer freeze and have had to call the Attendance office for paper copies of the class rosters. Then called in attendance for each class until (if) the computer issue got resolved.
Thanks for running the giveaway; physical books are my favorite prizes!
The school were I work introduced a new computer system in Dec. I have not been able to login since then. I had to have HR p?int my W2 form so that I can have my taxes done. I feel like Y2K exactually came true.
My Beau and I couldn’t even get my first laptop to open. Now if that doesn’t beat all! Sad, but true. We eventually figured it out and still laugh about it!
I know what you mean about technology. I often feel like I am falling behind. It is hard for me to keep up with the changes.
Just out of curiosity, will you be re-releasing Wildflower Bride as well? I’m asking because I don’t see it in the list of new books above.
Sarah, yes I am…but it’s not got an ‘approved to release’ cover yet. Very soon though.
I switched cell phone providers yesterday, put the new sim card in my phone, and it showed it had the new sim card, but wouldn’t let me make any calls or send text messages. It said it accepted everything, but the phone wouldn’t let the sim card “do its business” so, I ended up having to go and buy a new phone. It now works!!! And, it’s saving me money!
When I have problems with my laptop, I am always asking my daughter to help me figure out what is going on as I am not tech savvy Love the cover of this book it sounds like an amazing book have a Blessed Day!
We usually have to ask our daughter to help us with our phones but the other day, I had to call our telephone company to figure out why my husband’s phone wouldn’t make or receive calls.
Many issues but in the past.
Congrats on your book release!!!!!!!!!
I’m always frustrated with technology. I think some of it is my poor vision. (sad face) The worse tech terror I had was when my insulin pump, brand new, all of the sudden 2 hours after I started it for the first time started making this horrible noise and the screen said, maximum failure or something like that. I started to cry! This was my lifeline! Called manufacturer and they next day shipped a replacement. I guess that was my “welcome to our company”.
M Y computer doesn’t jive with my printer. Ugh. Always a problem getting things printed.
Terrible with tech and when I bought my 1st computer this scam company who I didn’t realize was a scam until I lost hundreds of dollars and they had taken over my computer remotely several times and when they tried to get me to renew my account to get fix my computer when needed I started seeing red flags after they started to threaten me they were not happy I didn’t renew
I sometimes have a problem with the printer and the computer communicating with each other.
I’m terrible with handling technology at work!! I’m in the middle of something very important and the document will suddenly close or the computer will stop working correctly and shut down!!! Ah a nightmare for sure. Then on top of that all the IT waiting time and going back and forth…. I’m always tempted to say see you tomorrow LOL
My feelings toward my computer most of the time is……….if it had a “neck” I would RING it!
