Welcome to Day 2 of Cowboys & Mistletoe (Week 1)

Here are the Charms and clues for today, presented in no particular order:

I chose a snowflake to represent my story because snowflakes play a key role in a symbolic way. When I was a child, I stammered. I was very self-conscious about it, but Miss Melody told me voices are like snowflakes—each one is unique and beautiful in its own way, just like every person is. I held those words of encouragement  close to my heart and then passed them on to a hurting little girl who came into my life unexpectedly.

I chose the moon to represent my story because there’s a recurring theme between the Kellan and me. The moon represents happiness, wholeness, and the two of us wanting to give each other every good thing in life now that it is finally within our reach. We know that running a large ranch in an untamed territory will take a lot of work, but also a lot of understanding and love to be successful.

POST 1 OF 2 FOR TUESDAY

Christmas Stocking Sweethearts Book 2
Pam Crooks’ Joy to the Cowboy

She was sunshine. He was clouds.  Until a sprig of mistletoe changed everything.

Griff Marcello must live with the shame of the crime he once committed for his mobster father.  As he grows into a man, he’s found security as a cowboy living in Glory Hill, Nebraska, but the memory of his sin never leaves him.

Joyanna Hollinger is devoted to the community of Glory Hill, and with Christmas approaching, her plans for a special Christmas Eve service consumes her. All her efforts are falling into place–until she loses a key part of the celebration.

When Griff receives an unexpected gift from his former piano teacher, he never thinks her kindness will fill him with the spirit of Christmas, even when Joyanna needs him most.

Could the simplicity of a hand-stitched stocking and the Christmas carol tucked within chase away the clouds in his heart and warm him from the sunshine of Joyanna’s love?

  1. My grandparents always had old-fashioned hard candies, and there were cinnamon sticks and and some small cinnamon drops at their house.

  2. When my mom would make apple pies, she made cinnamon pinwheels with the extra dough all the time. Also the cinnamon red hots we would put on the Christmas cookies.

  3. Waking up on Christmas morning and smelling homemade cinnamon rolls baking in the oven for breakfast.

  4. The scent of cinnamon reminds me of apple butter simmering on the stove and cinnamon rolls baking in the oven, of snuggling under a warm handmade quilt before the fire with a good book and spiced cider by my side. It reminds me of home.

  5. Cinnamon scent reminds me of Great Aunt Kathleen’s sweet potato bread that she always cooked for the holidays. The recipe calls for several spices, including cinnamon, plus raisins, dates, and nuts along with mashed sweet potatoes in the mix.

  6. My mom occasionally makes something on the stove that would make the house smell like cinnamon. It’s just spices and water that you simmer, but it smells heavenly!

  7. Cinnamon scented candles bring back memories of my Grandma’s house bedecked in all its Christmas finery.
The cinnamon mingled with delicious scents from the myriad of holiday goodies she baked beginning right after Thanksgiving.

  8. Going into candle shops and smelling all the candles. There’s always a cinnamon scent that seems to stand out 🙂

  9. Cinnamon always reminds me of the time my mom bought an apple-pie-scented candle from a friend for a fundraiser. The day she received it, she had it burning in the kitchen, and when my dad walked in the front door from work, he got all excited because he thought my mom was baking a pie! He was so disappointed when he found out it was just a candle that my mom baked him one the next night as a surprise. He thought it was just the candle again, so he was twice as excited when he walked in the kitchen and saw the real pie. He’s been gone 8 years today and I still miss him terribly, but I’m thankful for the memories and that I still have my mom.

  10. Apple pie baking. I have always loved the smell of cinnamon. I love cinnnamon rolls and we used to make cinnamon candy.

  11. It reminds me of my grandma’s oatmeal cookies. She put the faintest amount of cinnamon in her cookies.

  12. I love the scent of cinnamon!! Now, it brings back memories of a friend of Mom’s who bought me a cinnamon “broom” because she knew I loved the scent!!

  13. Love cinnamon scented candles!!! They remind me of Christmas and all of the wonderful memories of my grandmother baking! 🙂

  14. The cinnamon scent reminds me of cinnamon toast that I used to make for my daughter and my son when they were growing up who are both now in their late 40’s. Thank you for the chance.

  15. The cinnamon reminds me of my mom’s bread pudding that she would make for the holidays which had cinnamon in it.

  16. Great Grandmas house. Not what you think tho. Not cookies or baking. She would put a pot of water on the stove. She would put cinnamon in it and have it on low to put humidity in the air.
