Book #2 in the Golden State Treasure Series
Released on Tuesday
To Celebrate I’m giving away two copies of Legends of Gold
A book launch is a hectic thing. I’m amazed, as I’ve been at this a while now, that it seems to be MORE hectic than it used to be.

Or maybe I’m just older???
But no. I’m on podcasts sometimes. It’s really fun DURING the taping but I can get pretty nervous before…afraid of what I’ll find to say…and after hyperventilating over what I actually said.
There are blog posts to write, not just here on P & P but other book-centered places. Though that blog world isn’t as brisk as it used to be.
There are marketing question interviews to answer and social media posts to write and … oh yeah …books to write, too, because while I’m getting everything in gear to launch a book, I’m busy writing the NEXT book and there is always a next book and I am grateful beyond words for that.
So it’s here. Legends of Gold, which I loved, went in sort of unexpected directions when I wrote it. Directions I hope readers will love.
To celebrate, leave a comment to get your name in a drawing for one of two signed copies of Legends of Gold.

Let’s talk SUMMER. I was sitting on my porch the night before book launch and I got to watch a rainstorm come in. It was so beautiful, first the faint thunder, then louder and on a super still day, the wind gusted then blew. The rain sprinkled then poured.
I felt blessed to be able to just sit there and watch a summer storm. What’s your favorite thing about summer. or just something you love because you might have ten favorites.
Click here to buy on Baker Book House. It’s actually a better price there right now. Legends of Gold

Happy Book Release Day!
I’m very happy today, because my daughter-in-law is in labor. Baby boy will be born today.
Whoa! Grandbaby!!!!!!!!!!!!! Exciting ‘launch’ in your family, huh? Congratulations.
Thank you! He was born at 9:33am ET.
Congratulations on your Release Day!!!
I’m not the biggest fan of summer because of the heat & humidity. I do love seeing the fireflies at night though.
Joanne, I am Air Conditioning’s biggest fan
Congrats on release day. Summer will hit full force tomorrow in southeastern nebraska. Calling for triple digits Friday-Sunday. Hello Summer. Hello A/C.
It’s supposed to get o 100 degrees here today. YIKES!
Congrats on the release! Summer is ok but I much prefer spring. In Florida, there is a lot of humidity in the summer.
Hi Ann. Summer in the south. It’s so hot. I had a friend who moved from Denver to Pheonix. she almost never left the house!
My favorite thing about summer is being able to sit outside in the sun and read.
Susan, I was outside reading just yesterday. Today? 100 degrees? Not gonna happen
Happy release day. I live in Florida, so the summers are humid, but I do enjoy the rainy season.
Sharon I was in Florida last winter for two weeks…alligators EVERYWHERE
One of my favorite things about summer is the wonderful fresh produce and fruit.
I so enjoy reading your books. Thank you for writing.
Mary B…we are living off our garden right now. Asparagus, new potatoes, beets and my husband said we’re days away from summer squash.
Cpngratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’d love to read your books sometime but
1. I don’t have the time currently. lol
2. I just can’t afford the ebook prices!
I do have them on TBR list and Amazon wish list. Maybe I’ll get lucky between my 3 boys and my boyfriend. hahaha
Oh My Gosh, Carrie. You’ve got your hands full. The books are free at the library, don’t let money stop you from reading…three kids thought…I think I went ten years without reading a book when the kids were little
You are one of my favorite authors. Thanks for doing the giveaway.
Aw, thanks, Renea. I appreciate that so MUCH
I’ll admit, I’m not crazy about summer. It’s HOT in Florida, and it’s hurricane season!!! For the first time in years we haven’t had a named storm yet!! For June, that’s highly unusual!! However, I gladly take it and I’m really happy we haven’t had one! We could use rain, but we really don’t need a hurricane!! The Pacific has had five named storms, with the strongest hitting Mexico today. When the Pacific is active, the Atlantic isn’t.
Always a bad sign when they NAME THE STORMS!
One of my favorite things about summer is our fresh garden produce, thank you for the giveaway opportunity!!!!
Fresh vegetables are a luxury, Bridgette. We SAVOR THEM. My Cowboy, retired now, is a crazed gardener.
We had a huge thunderstorm go through yesterday just before I left work to go home – so many roads were blocked with downed trees – lost 2 big branches out of my huge sugar maple at the house as well and of course had to twist the power lines somehow on the way down! WE have a great electric company that was right out and got it fixed!
Teresa, we lost a tree in a storm and two huge sections of big old trees…all this spring. It’s weird.
Not a fan of summer – here in southeast Wyoming pivots run nonstop ramping up the humidity to go along with temps in the 90’s most days. I do enjoy working my huge garden – nothing better than fresh veggies picked minutes before enjoying them. Another plus – cattle are on pasture so no feeding!
I’ve set a few books in Wyoming recently. Love their history and the landscape. Still…it gets hot, like Nebraska. I don’t envy Texas and Florida this time of year….in winter I do…big time.
I have yet to read any from this series, but it sounds sparkling beautiful. A treasure to behold.
Looking forward to reading it! Love your books!
I pre-ordered this and started reading it last night.
My favorite part of summer is being able to swim every day (weather permitting) in my backyard pool. Great exercise and it helps me stay in shape.
I always enjoy your books as they take me to interesting locations during the westward expansion of our country. Life and people, from reading just basic history, well researched fiction such as you write, and doing a great deal of genealogy, were very different then and for most more focused on basics and simpler things.
I don’t like the high August heat in my region, but, overall, the season is a plus with more outdoor opportunities. Simply sitting on the back porch/patio is so pleasant after winter.
Oh, Mary, it is good to hear from you. I agree, book launches seem to be more involved than they used to be. I have one coming in August and I haven’t done ANYTHING. But it will be worth it.
Sounds like a great series!
Looking forward to reading your book. I try to buy most of them.
Definitely on my must read list
My favorite thing to do in the summer is camp. I love being outside. I am looking forward to reading Legends of Gold!
Congrats on the release and thanks for the chance!
this summer is so exciting. getting ready for our first grand child. it will be a girl. and our daughter is feeling fantastic. got word yesterday at 3:30 am that we have a granddaughter who came through everything with flying colors. so did our daughter and our son in law. she was in actual pushing stage for only 1.5 hours. the nurses were amazed for a first time mom. little girl is 6 lbs and 28 inches long. she had her first bath this morning and seemed to love it. my husband and I will be heading out to CA soon to spend time with them.
Looking forward to reading this book.
Your book sounds like the kind I enjoy reading. I have added it to my TBR list
Happy summer
Congrats on your book. It sounds like one I would enjoy reading.
Congralations on your new book and thank you for the giveaway opportunity!
Can’t wait to get this book in my hands. I love summertime and don’t mind the heat… believe me, it gets hot and humid here on the coast of Southeast Texas. I guess just seeing the lush grass, trees and sunshine… well, even the summer storms (unless it’s a hurricane, of course).
Congratulations on your latest book!!!
Congratulations on your newest book release!
Summer is my least favorite season, but I do enjoy having humming birds visit this time of year 🙂
Good afternoon. Congratulations on your new release! Your book sounds like a Great read and your book cover is Stunning, I love it! My favorite part of summer is celebrating my birthday, another year of my life. I also love summer because my grandchildren are out of school for the summer, actually our oldest grandchild (our grandaughter is off from college) Have a great day and a great weekend. Thank you for the chance.
I really enjoyed the first book in thie series. I am looking forward to reading this one.
The book sounds really good and I love the pretty cover.
Book launches must be so hard now. Many people do not go into a book store now so you have to reach them in unique ways. Congrats on your launch! Summer is hot where I am and I am sensitive to the heat.
I like growing flowers and vegetables from seed in the summer time. I love to see the different stages they go through and the wonderful results when they mature. I mostly grow them in pots, that’s easier than working in a garden.
I love watching a storm roll through. Not a really bad storm, just a normal summer storm. It’s rather awe-inspiring to see the rain falling hard, the lightning flashing, and hear the thunder rolling.
I enjoy the flowers of summer and the sunshine, but not the heat and humidity of summer.
We have a few fruit trees, and blueberry bushes in our yard and I enjoy the fresh harvest we get! 🙂
It sounds like a really interesting book. Thank you for sharing.
The book cover brings out the beautiful color of the golden sky referred to the title & the woman’s red skirt of the perfect pop of color. Love it.
This sounds like an interesting book. Thanks for the chance to win a copy.
I love your books. Can’t wait to read this one!
I enjoy summer because of the warmer tempts and being able to get outside and enjoy it. This year is a different story because all we have had has been rain and lots of it. Our back yard right now is one big puddle. I do enjoy a nice rain storm like you said but when it goes on and on you do get tired of it, we are in the flash flood warning right now.
I really enjoy your books and I can’t wait to read this one, so happy release day.
I love being able to help author’s launch their books. I am on numerous author’s ARC launch teams. It is fun and exciting to be able to read the books. I love being absorbed into a story. I feel like I am there a long with the characters. I love being able to tell others about new releases. Spreading the word about how much I enjoyed a book is always fun. Thank you so much for the opportunity. God bless you.
My favorite thing about Summer is usually watching all the animals and watching all the flowers blook but this year is different my favorite thing this summer is my one niece already had her Baby and made me a Great Aunt and my other niece who is expecting this Summer will also make me a Great Aunt so I get too become a Great Aunt Twice over
This story looks like an incredible read
