We are getting ready for Cowboys and Mistletoe to celebrate all the Christmas releases coming this year from the Petticoats and Pistols Fillies–including one of mine! A re-release of a contemporary non-western romance. So be aware of that if you order it…
But that is to be discussed during out Cowboys and Mistletoe extravaganza.
Today I’m announcing that rare book a THANKSGIVING RELEASE!!!
This is also not a new release but it’s a novella I’m particularly fond off. Set in western Nebraska.
Historical. Cowboys. A western fort. Love and oddly, an arrogant Scottish Laird who’s woman ran away from him. He’s chased her all the way to the American west and NOT because of love…it’s because he pulled one too many tyrannical acts was was driven all the way off the continent. He blames her and has been chasing her ever since.
Thankful for the Cowboy
Lauren Drummond needs three windmills on this drought year or her growing herd of cattle is going to die of thirst. When Tom MacKinnon rides up with the skill and material necessary to build windmills, he offers to give her three if she’ll help him learn to survive in the Sandhills of Nebraska. She eagerly agrees to teach him the ways of the Sandhills. But when the recently widowed lady rancher finds herself in Tom’s strong arms, she turns him away. She’s not ready to think of another man. Tom sets out to save her ranch and change her mind.
It’s available as a VERY SLENDER paperback and as an ebook.
Leave a comment about your favorite tradition for Thanksgiving to get your name in a drawing for you choice of either the paperback or the ebook.

I enjoy everyone working together to fix the Thanksgiving dinner. I can remember doing it with my parents and am glad to be including grandchildren in the process today.
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Hi Patricia! We do the usual turkey with all the trimmings. working together to make is a big part of the fun
Dinner, football, and family.
There you go. A perfect Thanksgiving
Napping while a football game is playing in the background!
Wow, the napping is the crowning event! LOL
My favorite part of Thanksgiving is spending time with my family
We’re getting a good turnout this year. One daughter missing. Why doesn’t ‘that child do the right thing and come home???
Yeah, I know ‘That Child’ is the married mother of two.
I love getting together with my family at Thanksgiving. It’s rare all of us gather at one time anymore. I also enjoy the turkey dinner. Turkey is one of my favorite meats, and I always ask myself every holiday season why I don’t fix it more often.
My son in law always makes the turken. He deep fries one and smokes one…. turkey breasts. It’s always delicious.
Peace and quiet on thanksgiving.
making the noodles with the grands help!
Playing with the grandkids after Thanksgiving dinner. Plus, everyone at the table shares what is in their hearts of gratitude. I love to prepare the meal. Such a blessed time of year. Happy Harvest Season Mary.
My favorite tradition is gathering with a myriad of friends and family members for the day. The other thing we do a few days ahead of Thanksgiving is find a military family to gift a turkey and trimmings to.
My favorite tradition is the family (of those that are able to) getting together and we go around the table saying something we are thankful for.
I like the family get together. This year it will be just my daughter’s four and me and my husband.
My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is eating with my family. I’m blessed to get two dinners this year, one with my boyfriend’s brother and sister-in-law, and one with my mom, sister, brother-in-law, kids and boyfriend.
I live in the Southwest , and we always include tamales in our traditional Thanksgiving dinner
I always love being with family and getting to enjoy good food together.
I don’t really have a favorite tradition with Thanksgiving, other than getting together with friends. I don’t even know what food we’re having, as they fix all of the food! All I have to do is show up, and I get to bring home leftovers!! I guess my favorite thing is that I don’t have to cook! I’ll be putting Christmas cards in the mail, probably starting tomorrow. I’ll probably be writing in some Thanksgiving, if they aren’t all in the mail by then. If they are, then I’ll start coloring birthday cards for next year, or maybe the Christmas cards I’ll be sending next year.
Its actually a preThanksgiving tradition. We would be baking the goodies before Thanksgiving and would turn on Christmas music. We would sing and goof off while baking. That was before my dad retired because now he likes to watch movies while we bake
I don’t have a favorite tradition, except having dinner with family.
Going to my sister’s after Thanksgiving for a big dinner. I used to be the one to cook it but she started doing it a few years ago and she is a lot younger then me. I am getting a little old to do a big dinner like that with all my back problems.
Our daughter and her little family live in the same town as we do, our son and his little family live about 6 hours away. We alternate having Thanksgiving at our house or at our daughters house, we all make something for Thanksgiving and one of our grandchildren always say Grace.
We have a very small family but have always enjoyed the food (especially Aunt Kathleen’s old recipe for sweet potato bread) and perhaps a little football plus checking some sale ads to plan bargain shopping on Black Friday. Thankfully I can do most of that online now! Nothing exciting but got to have those socks and pajamas anyway so grab while on sale! Always really enjoy your books and appreciate your excellent historical research!
I remember all the deceased members if my family through their recipes
I like having my family together sharing a meal.
I love being with family
My favorite tradition for thanksgiving is homemade noodles
My favorite part of Thanksgiving is being with all my family.
Thanksgiving dinner with family
My favorite Thanksgiving tradition besides the meal with family is a special service at church where everyone just shares what they’re thankful for. There’s not an actual sermon. Various scriptures are sprinkled into the service as well as songs of praise, but basically the service is just praising God for answers to prayer and blessings in our lives.
After eating such a large midday meal on Thanksgiving Day, most members of my family did not have room for dessert. So my mom would serve the pies at supper time. It was the one day a year when we ate dessert as our meal.
My favorite tradition is watching the Macy’s thanksgiving day parade while preparing the dinner.
When I was a child, we would have Thanksgiving at our home. We have a six room home. One year, we had 50 people for a sit down Thanksgiving dinner. We had people in every room. I am an only child. I loved anytime I was with my aunts, uncles and cousins. Thank you so much for the opportunity. God bless you.
I always Love watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade while getting the Thanksgiving Dinner started Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
I’m from Finland, so no Thanksgiving traditions here.
Our Thanksgiving traditions involve food. lol We always have turkey, cornbread dressing, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, strawberry salad and rolls. Of course desserts, usually whatever the first person to get their requests in ask for. We just enjoy being together with family. This book sounds good. I just finished one of yours, Chasing the Horizon and am on the waiting list for the next book in the series. Loved Chasing the Horizon.
I am in my fifties, and a favorite tradition my parents have had since I was a child and still do today (so a lot of years ?) is to invite people from our church that do not have a place to spend Thanksgiving.
My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is getting together with my siblings, cousins, and our families. Except for when I lived too far away to attend, I’ve spent Thanksgiving with my relatives on my dad’s side since I was a baby.
Besides the baking, eating, and enjoying the company of our family or friends, our Thanksgiving “tradition” has been putting up our outdoor Christmas lights in between cooking, and after eating. 🙂 In the morning we wake up to fall decor, then by night we have the magical glow of Christmas lights in our yard.
The only tradition I can think of actually started about ten years ago when we moved to Maine. We no longer have the big traditional meal every year. We discuss as a family(my parents, myself, & daughters) what we want that year. This year we’re having ham, potatoes, squash, green beans with bacon, stuffing, rolls, cranberry sauce(jellied), pumpkin pie, cherry pie, & apple pie.
We usually go to a nearby relative’s house for Thanksgiving.
The men do the dishes. And as my father “dries”, he recycles a lot of dishes and the pile never seems to end!
I love helping my Mom with the turkey and getting all the side dishes ready.
Watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade while preparing the meal.
We’re going to my eldest son’s house for Thanksgiving this year. I love having family together and sharing God’s many blessings.
May you have a blessed Thanksgiving! ?
My favorite thanksgiving tradition is family together, playing to Ames or cards, cousins with cousins. But my brothers both past away and house needed lots of repairs so no one had money to fix it up. Mom has been gone 11 years. My youngest daughter comes over here. And grandkids. We have too fix what us parents are able to do. Health wise.
