Lilac Bride Sale

I don’t know about you, but I love it when the lilacs bloom. I mean, really LOVE it!

The flowers, from the deep purples, to the creamiest whites, make me so happy. They make me think of spring, and bring to mind memories of picking them for my mom for Mother’s Day, and gathering them from my grandpa’s garden.

Their scent isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I find that fragrance to be glorious.

A few years ago, I wrote a story about a bride-to-be who wanted a spring wedding filled with lilacs in memory of her mother.

Then it seemed like nature and everything else conspired against her getting the wedding of her dreams.

Just when it looks like it will all fall apart, some meddling octogenarians (like fairy godmothers who need cholesterol meds and Aspercreme) come to the rescue.

For a limited time, you can get Lilac Bride for just 99 cents. If you haven’t read it yet, I hope you’ll give it a whirl!

When wedding plans go awry, wily matchmakers come to the rescue . . .

Katherine Kelly has been dreaming of her wedding since she was old enough to cut pictures out of magazines and glue them into her bridal binder. When Kaden, the handsome cowboy who holds her heart, proposes on a snowy Christmas Eve, she couldn’t envision anything more perfect or romantic. The spring date is set, all the nuptial details have been meticulously arranged, and she only has six weeks to go before the big day. Then, in a blink, her carefully formed plans begin to rapidly unravel. A freak snowstorm, rampaging rodents, and a lost wedding gown are only the beginning of the troubles they face.

Cowboy entrepreneur Kaden Ford still can’t quite believe Katherine Kelly agreed to marry him. She’s beautiful, elegant, intelligent, and the woman who fills his heart with joy. He doesn’t care if they get married in a cathedral or a cabin in the woods. All he wants is to spend his life loving Kat. But when faced with one overwhelming challenge after another, will love be enough to hold them together?

Find out in this sweet, charming, small-town romance full of laughter, love, and scheming octogenarian matchmakers.

  1. My favorite flower fragrance is lavender. I’m allergic to Lilac’s. I love the look and smell of them, but they give me migraine headaches and can’t stop sneezing. I used to have a bush in my backyard but I was constantly congested so my husband finally removed it. Your book sounds intriguing. I will add it to my NTR list.

  2. Be still my heart! This just hit me like a ton of bricks. I remembered laying on a glider on my grandma’s porch when I was a kid. She had honeysuckle growing over the screen and a lilac bush by the screen door. The smell of the honeysuckle was wonderful but the lilac was glorious. She has been gone for 44 years but it all came back like it was yesterday. She was such a wonderful human being and I still miss her immensely!

    • Oh, hugs to you. Sometimes the scents are such triggers for memories. How fun you have that one of being with your grandmother. So sorry she’s been gone so long, but so glad you had special time with her.

  3. My favorite are roses, but my second best are lilacs. Lilacs bring fond memories of my grandmother as she would allow me to cut a bouquet of them for her from the bush in her yard.

    • Roses are my favorite summer flower, but lilacs hold a special place in my heart this time of year. That’s so neat your grandmother let you cut a bouquet of them for her. Love that! Thanks for stopping in today.

  4. I am with you – the lilacs and then the honeysuckle, peonies all smell wonderful to me! Mine too are blooming and hoping the forecasted frost on Sunday doesn’t happen!

    • I love peonies too! It’s been cold here the past few days, hoping our flowers don’t freeze, but especially hope the apple trees across the road don’t get frosted now that they are in full bloom. Sending warm thoughts your way! Enjoy your flowers!

  5. Hey Shanna! I have so many! Wysteria always reminds me of home as a young girl. Grandma had gardenias. But, right now, I’m enjoying Jasmine! I love the smell of it! I have two bushes of it blooming. Last year I purchased the second bush. I guess I do love it!LOL

    Many blessings to you Shanna!

    • Your favorites are all such beautiful, fragrant flowers, Tracy! I haven’t tried growing Jasmine here, but I think I might try this year. Thank you so much! And blessings to you!

  6. Lilacs are my all time favorite. My granny had a huge lilac bush in her front yard, and my mom has one in her yard that is actually a cutting from Granny’s. Nothing says spring like that heavenly fragrance!

    • That fragrance is so amazing. How fun your mom’s lilac is a cutting from your granny’s. The lilac bushes we had were from cuttings my mom got from my grandpa’s lilac bush. Love that they can be shared that way! Happy spring!

  7. Oriental Lillie’s are so fragrant. By the time they bloom in my garden, I am full of anticipation to enjoy their sweet fragrance. I wish dahlias were fragrant as I grow several varieties.

  8. I love lilacs and you can’t beat the smell of a good lilacs bush. My problem is I can’t seem to keep them alive here. I have put out several over the years and they all die, I guess I don’t have the green thumb to get them to live.

  9. Definitely lilacs. I remember having the windows open and during the night that’s all you can smell.

  10. I also love lilacs as well as wisteria. It is disappointing they do not last long enough. I love to see color all summer. My peonies are about to bloom, and the rest is a waiting game. I almost forgot about my magnolia tree. It has bloomed about 2 weeks ago, now the leaves are out on the tree and I am sure more Blossums will be coming again soon. They usually blossom about 8 times a year.

    • I love magnolia trees. I’ve tried planting them here, but it just gets too cold for them at our place. And wisteria are lovely! I have one bloom on mine right now.
      Happy spring, Judy!

  11. I love the smell of lilacs, roses, and mock orange. We had a huge lilac bush right outside my bedroom window. It was wonderful to open the window and let the fragrance waft in all night. After the lilacs finished, the mock orange bush next to it bloomed and we had weeks more of fragrant nights.

We have a lilac bush at our house now, but I don’t know what is wrong with it. It has sort of died our from the center out and is in really bad shape this Spring. There are blooms, but they are tiny clusters and few. The bush bloomed well last Spring after a bad Spring bloom the year prior. Oddly, it bloomed again last Fall. That was a first. My husband cut out the weeds and dead bush last fall, but it hasn’t helped much. I would hate to lose it. If we do, I will replant .

    • I enjoy all three of those too. We have a mock orange I got from a start from my mother-in-law that she got from her mother. I hope your lilac survives. I have one that only puts on a few blooms each year, but each spring I’m hopeful to see new blooms! Have a lovely spring!

  12. Fruit blossoms, honeysuckle, cinnamon, Mexican orange blossoms, vanilla, and others like them smell amazing. I can’t handle most “floral” scents. As pretty as the flowers are, they give me a migraine. I love wildflowers. They are beautiful in the spring as God sprays His canvas with dots of multicolored joy.
