Join us tomorrow for a day of fun, games, giveaways, and more!
If you could inherit a special
one-of-a-kind item
what would it be?
After spending her formative years on a farm in Eastern Oregon, hopeless romantic Shanna Hatfield turns her rural experiences into sweet historical and contemporary romances filled with sarcasm, humor, and hunky western heroes.
When this USA Today bestselling author isn’t writing or covertly hiding decadent chocolate from the other occupants of her home, Shanna hangs out with her beloved husband, Captain Cavedweller.
My great grandpa made a beautiful bookshelves with windows carved in the sides! I’d love to inherit it!
Oh, they sound lovely, Ami! They would be a lovely thing to inherit!
I already have. I have my grandma’s wedding ring and a double wedding ring quilt she made.
That is wonderful, Denise. What a precious treasure you have in those two things!
This party is going to be so fun! Thanks, Shanna!
Thank you, Karen! It will be such fun!
A beautiful handcrafted piece of furniture.
Wouldn’t that be awesome! Thank you for stopping in today, sweet friend!
I also have inherited some precious mementos of my Mother. she passed in 1967. I have some pieces of jewelry as well as gloves she used to wear and a handkerchief. Back in those days we wore gloves to church and ALWAYS carried a handkerchief. I can recall a beautiful hat she used to have and I wish I had been able to get that but it disappeared from my memory sometime before she died.
Hi Judy,
So wonderful you have those precious keepsakes that once belonged to your mother. Women back then always looked to polished with their gloves and hats and handbags. It’s lovely you have those things to remember her by. Thanks for stopping in today!
Sounds like fun! My mom has already told me what mine would be. A cluster diamond ring and her River house her and my father built. However, I hope to have her awhile longer with us.
I enjoyed the Pink Pistol Series! So, what’s next fillies?! Heh.
Hi Tracy, What wonderful keepsakes you’ll one day receive. I hope you keep your mama with you a long time, though! I’m so glad you enjoyed the series. What’s next is a good question!
Interesting, Shanna. I would love to inherit anything old that belonged to one of my ancestors. They were all so poor and used up/wore out everything they had. They tucked nothing back. But I would love to have a letter they wrote or thoughts in a journal. That would be priceless. 🙂 I think this party will be tons of fun.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have journals or letters from our ancestors. Mine weren’t good about writing things down, but I sure wish they had! Can’t wait to party with you tomorrow!
I’m looking forward to the party tomorrow! I’m so glad you did this blog today and spread the word!
I’ve inherited some pretty cool stuff–one is a set of books I had as a kid. They had belonged to both my sisters before me. They’re called The Bookhouse Books and they are a collection of children’s nursery rhymes and stories that are just gorgeously illustrated–so unusual. They’re not in print any longer, as my parents bought them back in the 40’s, but to me they are priceless. I also inherited some of my mom’s beautiful china painting, and keep that on display in her old china cabinet. I love to see what everyone else has been given that means so much to them!
Hi Cheryl!
Oh, I bet that set of books is a delightful treasure – and the china too! So neat you have those lovely keepsakes! Looking forward to the party with you tomorrow, my friend!
Hi Shanna, I am looking forward to tomorrows party! Sounds like alot of fun! I inherited the electric train my dad got us since I was just a little girl, many, many years ago. Have a great day and see you tomorrow.
That is so neat you have the electric train your dad got you when you were little. That is so fun! Looking forward to partying with you tomorrow!
I have my paternal grandmother’s treadle sewing machine. She used it to make clothes for herself, her eight children, and many of her grandchildren, including me! If only it could talk….
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if it could tell stories of all the clothes it helped create. Such a precious heirloom you have!
A handmade table cloth that my Grandmother made. Thank you for sharing. God bless you.
What a beautiful keepsake you have. Treasure it! Blessings to you, Debra!
Not one of a kind, but my paternal grandmother gave me a cradle that had been in her family. Our great grandchildren are at least the 7th or 8th generation that has used it. She made and embroidered a sweet little quilt for it. She also gave me several quilts she made (nothing fancy) and her treadle sewing machine that she used to sew the quilts as well as clothes for their 7 children.
I have to do some follow-up calls for flooding we had here last week (for the Red Cross). The first one is at 11, so I will miss much of the party. I will have to just check in to see what went on.
That is amazing, Patricia. What a wonderful legacy piece to pass down through so many generations, as well as the quilts! And so neat you have the treadle sewing machine too. Sorry about the flooding. Please do pop in to the party whenever you have a chance. The giveaways are open all day!
