I just received my Spur Award for Love on Target.

It is so awesome! The spur mounted on it is just the icing on the cake. I’m still so humbled and honored they chose my book for the romance novel category. This award is definitely going to have a special place in my office.

My niece decided we needed to get the whole family together for a photography session at her place. She arranged for the photographer, so all we had to do was give Dad a ride and arrive on time. When we were getting ready to leave Dad’s house, he carried out two cowboy hats. One of them is very “vintage” and the other one is fairly new. He asked which hat he should wear and I asked which one he liked the best.

He picked up the vintage hat and said, with emotion thick in his voice, “your momma gave this one to me.”

I nodded, doing my best not to cry. “Then that’s the one you should wear.”

So he did.

We haven’t gotten the photos back from the photographer yet, but she sent this one as a teaser. It makes my heart happy every time I look at it. I’m so glad Amanda decided it was time to get some photos with everyone, especially Dad. Have you done family photos recently?
