This Friday, February 22, 2025, Miss Janice Cole Hopkins will return to our guest spot! Yee-Haw!
How much do you know about dime novels? I find them very intriguing. They were snidely referred to as “penny dreadfuls.” You’ll find Miss Janice’s post very interesting.
Plus, she has a new book called The Writer’s Rescue. She’s bringing an ebook to give away.
Shake the wrinkles out of your bustle and head over here on Friday. We’ll have a lot of fun.
Bring coffee. And a donut! The Fillies will love you forever.
When I'm not keepin' all these Fillies in line, I'm practicing my roping so I can catch me a cowboy. Me and Jasper (my mule) are two peas in a pod. Both of us are as crotchety as all get-out.
Almost anything that got people reading was a good thing. It made reading available to people when little was available.
Welcome Janice. My bustle is shaking, coffee and donut is finished.
Are any of you fillies familiar with the juvenile books of Audrey Couloumbis? In “The Misadventures of Maude March,” Maude’s younger sister Sally is a tomboy who’s addicted to penny dreadfuls. It’s a great story; so funny that my husband laughed through a stop sign (we were on a road trip and that book was our audio entertainment) listening to it.
