Apologies for Technical Difficulties & Thank You Gift

You might have noticed that our Petticoats & Pistols site was experiencing some technical difficulties last week. It was a bumpy ride, and we got bucked off several times, but I’m happy to announce that we are back in the saddle and ready to ride again now that we have a new server big enough to support all of our western love.

Because we hate to disappoint our readers in any way, the Fillies got together and decided to offer gratitude baskets to express how much we appreciate your patience and loyalty. Since we’re all book lovers here, and since fall is fast approaching, we thought it would be fun to offer baskets with a Tea & Cookie theme. What goes better with a good book than a cozy cup of tea and a sweet treat to nibble on?

Thank You Prizes

For a chance to win one of the SEVEN gratitude baskets, leave a comment about something you’re thankful for.
Winners will be drawn at random and announced on Tuesday, September 14.
.

Thank you for sticking with us!

  1. I am thankful for answered prayer by my great God. And, I am thankful for authors like so many of you who became friends and soldiered this journey of fighting breast cancer with me by your encouraging words and friendship. I love you guys. God bless you!

    • You’re so welcome, Kathy. I tried to put myself in your shoes and just couldn’t. To be told you had such a devastating kind of cancer that that you likely wouldn’t survive would shake you to your soul. But you found strength to fight and fight you did. I’m so happy to be your friend and proud of your immense spirit. God is a miracle worker and your work on earth was not done. You evidently have much more to do so spread your testimony. I love you dearly.

  2. Good morning Fillies! I am thankful for so much: My family; Good friends; my current MS health, which is great, considering…; somewhat cooler weather; a roof over my head; food on my table; at least one running vehicle, thought I do not have one but my daughter does; good books which are my escape from reality, my vacations, since I don’t get to go on any, and my sanity; great authors like you ladies here at P&P that bring us those great books: that no one in my family has Covid, my bf might, we are waiting on his results as we speak; that we got thru the anniversary of 9/11 without any attacks on us Americans; and certainly not last or least, God, my Lord and Savior! Have an awesome week ladies!

    • Stephanie, we indeed have so much to be thankful for. We don’t have to wait until life is perfect because it never will be. We can be thankful every day for what we have. We’re not hungry and not living on the street. We don’t have Covid and are on a respirator. We could be living in Afghanistan for goodness sakes. The women and girls there have it so bad. Love you, fellow warrior.

  3. I am thankful to be living in an area of the country where old-fashioned Christian morals and values are still the expected norm. It’s a great place to be living with my family, raising my granddaughters.

  4. I am most thankful for God sending His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross and rise again to save us from our sins. Even during my present season of mourning, I’m thankful for the parents He gave me, and that I had the privilege and blessing of being Mom’s caregiver the last 9 years of her life on earth. I’m also very thankful for CF books, as that’s what is helping me stay sane! This is rather appropriate, as yesterday was the 9 month anniversary of Mom’s homegoing.

    • Me too, Cathy. That was so horrible. Not in any of our 14 years as a website has this happened or even come close. I’m so grateful for God’s abundant mercy and grace. I went walking outside earlier today and gave thanks to God for the blue sky and the breeze on my face. I was able to get out of bed and could feed myself. Many cannot. God has been so merciful to me. Enjoy your Sunday.

  7. I have so many blessings my cup is full and running over. I made a move a little over a year ago for a change I thought I needed and things did not go well, so I am especially grateful to God for the wonderful way he aligned things for me to come back home, his provision and safety on the trip back, and allowing me too find an apartment that is twice as nice as the one I left and one I can afford. Peace and Serenity are priceless gifts and I had taken it for granted before. Now I have the peace and quiet to read, read, read, .Petticoats and Pistol authors provide so much fun, historical information, and great books that allow me to escape my pain issues and keep me well entertained. Thank you for all you do behind the scenes to make things look flawless. I am glad you were able to upgrade your server and we can continue to ride on down the trail together.

Yep, we’re all on this trail ride together and enjoying every minute. We’ve shared trials and hopes and celebrated fantastic things together. I wouldn’t trade that for anything.

  8. Thank you, this is very generous. I am grateful that you have been able to get the P&P site up again. My mother in law is in a retirement home and she has not been doing too well. First she fell and broke her right femur. This was five weeks ago and I am so grateful that she is using a walker and the doctor is impressed how well she has been healing. But now she is having memory problems. But I am so grateful that even with the isolation, my husband and sister in law were able to go in daily. My husband worked in her room and my sister in law spent the night. quilting dash lady at comcast dot net

    • God bless your mother, Lori. May she keep improving. How wonderful that she could have company during the isolation. That took a huge mental toll on the elderly. I’m so thankful for you and your positive comments.

  19. I am so thankful to know that this is God’s world and he is in control, especially at the moment with COVID-19’s Delta strain at large in our country. It would be so easy to panic If I didn’t know he was in charge. I am also grateful for books, both print and eBooks, to read, particularly now while we are in lockdown, and for the technology that keeps us connected during this time..

I am very thankful for the 3/10 inch of rain we received Friday. It was a very nice gentle rain bringing some relief for firefighters as well as our farming communities. Still a long way to go before reaching our average rainfall but it brought us hope that there will be enough moisture to seed winter wheat in the dry land areas. Grain seeded in the spring never produces as much as that seeded in the fall so moisture this fall will be a great help.
