Juliette Blanchard needs Tru McCord’s land to build her luxury hotel. She’s desperate to prove herself in a man’s world and provide for herself and her younger sister, too.

But Tru refuses to sell. He’d once lost everything because of her and her no-good father. He doesn’t need a frivolous hotel—and Juliette—back in his life. Or does he?

Will the spirit of Christmas destroy their family feud…or reignite their love?

Puppy Alert! Zoey joined our family two weeks ago and now all of out shoes are stored above puppy level.

Talk about a new dynamic! We love her. The cats are waiting for her to grow up before they get too friendly, lol. Zoey is an Australian Shepherd, who will help manage the cattle when she gets a little older.

Join me on November 10 for a virtual author chat sponsored by the Cary Library Foundation. We’ll be talking books, writing, and the genre of inspirational romance. My favorite part is the Q&A, where you get to ask the questions!

You must register ahead of time to participate in this Zoom chat, but I’d love to see you there!

So here’s what has been happening in my world! We live in Oklahoma City–where Halloween time can be anywhere from a balmy 80 degrees to a freezing cold blizzard. With Oklahoma weather, there is no telling what will happen. A week ago today, a “bit of an ice storm” moved in–for THREE DAYS. Yes, for three days we had freezing rain, drizzle, sleet, and more of the same, over and over again. I thought we were going to lose our crepe myrtles we’d planted this year–the ice bent them completely to the ground.

We’d also planted a “bottlebrush” plant that we were anxious to see bloom–of course, it began to bloom about 3 days before the ice hit! Anyway–it’s all gone now, and today it’s 71 degrees! Luckily, we never lost our power. But there are still over 200,000 people here in Oklahoma who are still without it.

Three small crepe myrtles in front of that little fence are almost impossible to see they are so ice covered and weighted down.

My 7th annual Read a Book, Help a Cowboy campaign is in full swing. And to celebrate, there’s going to be a party (there has to be a party, right?)

I hope you’ll join us November 12 at Wholesome Hearts Events on Facebook for the event. Sixteen guest authors will be dropping in to offer games, giveaways, and a chance to connect.

The shenanigans get underway at 10 a.m. (Pacific Time).

You can join us here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/385464705778481

  1. Congrats to you all on bringing us so much exciting news.
You all are my heroines because you keep us sane and looking at the positive.
    Love you all.

  2. Good morning, ladies! I think the fillies outdid themselves with sharing all kinds of good news during these crazy times. How about you?

Just like a new puppy, new books make us happy, and they show there’s still lots of hope and joy in life!

    Enjoy! Yee-Haw!

  3. LOL I too have a new Aussie pup – at 4 months he is major teething and yes the shoes cannot be high enough!! LOVE her coloring – mine is a black tri male named Rowdy!

  4. Yeehawww, Thanks for sharing ladies. Lots of wonderful Things happening. There is still joy in our lives, we just need to bring them out and share them like the fillies are doing. Thanks fillies.

  5. I am looking forward to Shanna Hatfield’s Cowboys and Christmas Celebration. I enjoyed it last year. I got one of the cookbooks for my daughter for Christmas and have one for myself. She and I have enjoyed them.
Lots of good books coming out. I definitely have my wish list made out.
Cheryl, I hope your crepe myrtle trees didn’t take any damage. It is probably a good thing they were small. The weather has been crazy this year. Ice storms are one of my least favorite events. Have had to deal with them more times than I like. I hope people get their power back before it gets cold again.
Jeannie, I love the puppy. Her coat matched that handsome gentleman’s beard. We have been thinking of getting another dog, but are not sure our current one would appreciate another one. It would do her good to get up and moving. Pf course we could always get a senior dog who needs a home.
I hope you ladies had a good Halloween and are enjoying the Fall.

  6. Hi everyone! So glad you stopped by to share our “goings-on” in our lives–whether it be the excitement of a new release, a new puppy, or in my case, just surviving the ice storm of 2020 and being lucky enough to NOT lose power. (I know everyone heard a big ol’ YEE-HAW from me on THAT note!) Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing with us!

  7. I love to read your updates and so look forward to reading your new books. My adventure to reading came by selecting an historical western in a used bookstore. My first book introduced me to Linda Broday, Jodi Thomas, DeWanna Pace, and Phyllis Miranda. From there, I was hooked. I’ve enjoyed getting to know you all. My life is enriched because of you. God bless you!

  8. Always so much fun to see what everyone is up to, plus my pre-order wait for Linda Broday’s ONCE UPON A MAIL ORDER BRIDE is almost over! Although I will be sad to see the series end.

  9. Howdy, everybody! What a great Yee-Haw Day! So many new books to look forward to! Congratulations and best wishes, Fillies!

  10. Lot’s of very good sounding and good looking new book releases! Thank you for sharing about them. Congratulations to all the authors that have New Book Releases!
