We belong to the oldest continually writing organization in the United States and it happens to be right here in the Texas Panhandle. WE’RE TURNING 100 ON APRIL 20TH! In celebration, Texas High Plains Writers has published a new anthology. With Words We Weave … A Celebration of the Past is available now at Amazon.

The original group, Panhandle Pen Women, was organized by forward-thinking Laura V. Hamner and quickly boasted 48 members by 1925. We’ve had several names along the way but this anthology of short stories, memoirs, essays, poetry, and non-fiction pieces portrays the history of how we slowly evolved into Texas High Plains Writers. This is our second book that showcases the immense talent in this area. The first released last year and here’s the link:

UNDER A WESTERN SKY–An oldie but a goodie, and who can’t use a SIX-BOOK boxed set right now for only .99? So come on over to Amazon and snap this one up, with wonderful books by some excellent western historical romance writers! You can’t go wrong! Y’all hunker down and read!

  1. Pam – I have got to get through some of the books I already have. After reading blurbs on several of the books in this series, the Bachelors & Babies series sounds like something I would really enjoy.
Margaret – I love anthologies and mail order brides are a favorite topic. This one is firmly on my wish list.
Karen – I know I will enjoy this one. All your books have been delightful.
Linda and Phyliss – This sounds interesting. The cover reminds me of the hours on such roads we spent on our several trips to Texas.
Cheryl – I already have Under A Western Sky. I really need to get to it. I know I will thoroughly enjoy it. I see Fire Eyes is included. My copy is packed away. I look forward to rereading it.
    Stay safe and healthy, Fillies.

    • Patricia, so glad to see you today! I have a huge “to be read” stack, so I totally understand, but I AM making some headway during this quarantine stay-at-home time. I hope you are enjoying some “down time” for yourself, too!
