sceneryThe Final Chapter!

This is the last book in my exciting Bachelors of Battle Creek series and I think I’ve saved the best for last. It will be out on December 1, 2015!

Their love flamed to life in a dark jail cell after the sheriff shot Brett Liberty then arrested him.

Brett struggled to his feet and clung to the metal bars to keep from falling. “Once and for all, tell me…what did I do? What am I guilty of?”

“You were born,” the sheriff snapped. Without more, he turned and walked to the front of the jail.

His only crime was being Indian and the sheriff, driven by hate for Brett’s kind, ordered him to be hung. Brett’s only chance was his brothers- Cooper Thorne and Rand Sinclair. But they were 70 miles away.

ForeverTexasBridemedI love this cover. The amazing people in Sourcebooks’ art department just continually amaze me. Last month when I went to NYC, I met the lady who is so gifted. Dawn Adams told me a little about her process and how her main goal with each cover is capturing the emotion. She certainly does this on this cover. Notice how the man will not look directly into the eyes of the woman he’s holding? That was exactly Brett. He’s been reviled and hunted because he’s American Indian and he doesn’t want Rayna to suffer the same fate. So he can’t show her how he really feels and the love he carries deep in his heart.

Here’s the back blurb:

“There’s this thing between us that refuses to die. I’d like nothing better than to be able to…” His words faded. He’d give anything to change people’s views about his race…to be able to make her his wife.

But the world wasn’t that simple. Not for people like them.

All his life, Brett Liberty has straddled two worlds: white and Iroquois. The only place he’s truly at peace is with his wild mustangs. Arrested for the color of his skin, he discovers Rayna Harper in the cell next to him. Rough and tumble Rayna has known little kindness, but Brett sees the depth of her heart hidden beneath layers of hurt and fear, and he refuses to leave without her.

Something about the damaged, flame-haired beauty calls to him. Yet even as the two outcasts are drawn together, terrible danger at the hands men eaten with hate threatens to tear them apart. Brett knows he should let her go, but he’s taken with the woman who looks at him as if he were just any other man…and melts in his arms as if the brush of his lips is enough to chase all her demons away…

    • Good morning Alisa! Thank you for coming to read about my last book in the series and look at this amazing cover. I certainly understand your sadness about this being the final book. I’m not ready to say goodbye either. I’ve lived with these brothers for two years. They’ve told me their darkest secrets and shared their pain. Cooper, Rand and Brett are ingrained into my soul. They’re a part of me that will always be there. I suspect it’s that way for readers also.

Wishing you a glorious day filled with smiles!

  1. What beautiful cover, Linda. ALL the books in this series have had spectacular covers. The previous two were delicious. Can’t wait for this one! December seems so long away…

    • Good Morning Kathleen! You’ve saddled up early this morning. But then you’ve got those four little outlaws to let out. Love your Hole in the Wall gang! Cute! I’m glad this cover doesn’t disappoint. I love how Dawn left the woman barefoot because that was definitely Rayna. She had such an issue with shoes and never owned a real pair of ladies footwear until Brett bought her some. Both she and Brett are wounded souls with deep scars. I’m so glad they let me tell their story.

Hope you have a fun time today with everything you do.

      Big Texas HUGS!!

  2. Hi Linda, what an absolutely gorgeous cover. My first book with Sourcebooks is coming out next year and I can hardly wait to see my cover. If it’s half as nice as yours are, I’ll be one happy camper. I love the emotion you put in your books and can’t wait for this one!

    • Hi Margaret! I’m glad you like my new cover. I just can’t say enough. They pay so much attention to detail. They want to get every cover right. I don’t know if you heard, but they design on average 17 covers before they decide on the final one. What genre are you writing for them? I know you told me but I can’t remember.

Thank you for the compliment on putting emotion into my books. I certainly try. I’m glad you like them.

      • Oh YAY! I can’t see you writing anything else but that. And I CAN’T wait to see your cover!! I know it’ll be great. I spoke3 with Dawn Adams at length in NYC and she told me the pains she goes to in order to make the best cover possible. And our conversation taught me that to help her all I can, I need to send her a lot more than hair and eye color. She needs to know about the characters and their emotions.

  3. Linda, what a gorgeous cover and fantastic blurb. And what a tagline. You are to talented…it was your story that ignited that cover design. Best wishes and tons of success. I can’t wait to dig in as soon as it’s released. Love to you, my friend.

    • Hi Tanya! Thank you so much. I’m glad you like the cover and blurb. I can’t take credit for anything except the tagline. Sourcebooks did all the rest. I do hope you’ll like this story. Brett and Rayna have a big job in keeping a group of Indian orphans safe from the bad guys who are bent on killing them.

    • Hi Colleen! Thank you for coming over. I’m so glad to see you. I’m glad you like all of the book covers for my Bachelors series.

      Have a wonderful day. Hugs!

  4. I’m so excited to read Bret’s story. I know it will be fabulous. I love the cover. Beautiful!!!

  5. hey there Linda. good to see you here today. Did you ever look on the map and see how far I lived from where you are? Texhoma, OK. , a town on the state line of OK and TX. We lived on the Texas side of town. I really love the cover on your new book. And, the sound of the story. Take care and GOD bless. Maxie > mac262(at)me(dot)com <
