What delightful quotes. I find this one to be most true.
“Love doesn’t make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.” — Franklin P. Jones
And the devil in me likes this one.
“I love being married. It’s so great to find one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.” — Rita Rudner
This anthology will be a good one. Three of my favorite authors. I hope you have a great Valentine’s Day.
Hi Patricia,
I like the “devil in you” quote too. Funny! Thanks for stopping by!
Of the quotes you shared, this one was my favorite: “Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind.” — Shakespeare
But my favorite quote on love comes from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a:
“Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.”
Hi Faith,
Well I think your quote is wonderful. Love never fails, is a good notion, isn’t it? Unconditional love. Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
I loved reading the quotes. I haven’t found love yet 🙁
Hi Cathy,
Glad you liked the quotes. Sometimes love sort of creeps up on you. It did with me and my hubby. You never know. Thanks for stopping by today!
Hi Charlene, loved the quotes! You made me laugh.
Happy Valentine’s!
Hi Margaret,
Glad to have put a smile on your face! Happy Valentine’s day to you too!
They are all great. But this one sticks out more to me and kind of reminds me of the relationship I have with my husband.
“I love being married. It’s so great to find one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.” — Rita Rudner
Hi Janine,
Yes, that’s a funny one! I think it’s true of all of us in one way or another during our marriage or relationship.
“Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward in the same direction.” — Antoine de Saint-Exupery
My husband and I will be married 38 years in July. he’s my soul mate. We definitely have similar tastes and outlook on life! I own a picture frame with part of this saying on it.
“Love is looking outward together in the same direction.”
“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.” — Helen Keller
On my first date I knew he was special and could possibly be “the one”.
Thanks for sharing these wonderful quotes!
”Love is taking a few steps backward maybe even more…to give way to the happiness of the person you love.”
? Winnie the Pooh
Hi Laurie
Congrats on marrying your soul mate! It’s wonderful when that happens. I like the quote on your picture frame. I think for me that happens, because we’ve sort of grown up together..either you grow closer in all things, or you grow apart. Seems like we’ve both grown closer to our mates.
These are some wonderful quotes.. I especially like “All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.” — Charles M. Schulz… And I am coming to the party, already sent my RSVP. See you tomorrow..
Hi Kathleen,
Oh, so glad you’re coming to our FB party! I have to say, anything with chocolate in it, is close to my heart too, unfortunately!
“You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly.” Sam Keen. I saw a tall, skinny guy across the room and when our eyes met and he winked, I was hooked! We will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary this year and the wink still works on me!
Hi Melanie,
How sweet! Congrats on 40 years together. How wonderful!
What a wonderful group of quotes! I have not found my other half yet… “Let us always meet each other with a smile, for a smile is the beginning of love.” — Mother Theresa Love that one… I like to share smiles! Happy Valentine’s Day! 🙂
Hi Colleen,
“A smile is the beginning of love.” Doesn’t a killer smile always get the girl in our romances? How true that is! Sharing my smile with you today too!
“Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.” – Aristotle This so describes my husband of 52 years and I.
We are definately soul mates.
But I really like this one also: “I love being married. It’s so great to find one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.” — Rita Rudner
Hi Connie
Aww…how sweet. For the first one and chuckles on the second one you picked!!
What a great post, loved your quotes. Also love the cover of your book.
Hi Quilt lady,
Thanks for the cover love!! Thanks for stopping by today!
I love quotes! My husband and I will celebrate our 14th anniversary on Valentine’s Day. I have a sign that sits on a bookshelf in our bedroom that says, “Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite!”
Hi Britney,
That’s a wonderful slogan!! Happy Anniversary!!
These are all true in some aspect.
Nobody can top All You Need Is Love. Not to get maudlin, but that was the theme of last April’s vow-renewal ceremony (six years to the date and time!) of our young friends Tawan and Nicole…he was battling a brain tumor that took him last November. Theirs is the truest love story I know. …and adding chocolate to the phrase like Charles Schultz’ did, wow! Doesn’t get any better than that. Best wishes on another sensational book, Charlene. And to Diana and Donna, too! xoxoxox
Hi Tanya,
Yes, adding chocolate is any phrase gets my attention!! All You Need is Love, a great notion and song!! Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Valentine’s to you and Tim.
“You had me from Hello,I felt love start to grow the moment you walked into the room” kenny chesney song that was and still is our love story
Hi Vickie,
Oh, that’s wonderful. How sentimental and sweet. Great quotes and notions!
Where there is love there is life, I feel best describes me. All your quotes were great and fun to read. Whit this quote I feel it touches a subject of family and friends. It reminds me of my family and my friends that I have surrounded myself with and knowing that through thick or thin one thing will always hold us together and that is love.
Hi Sandra,
That’s a great one and so true! I have supportive friends and family too. I consider myself lucky to have friends from grammar school, who have my back always!
I enjoyed reading all the quotes. However, I think the one most applicable is “You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly.” — Sam Keen
Thank you for this post and the giveaway! 🙂
I like 2 quotes. The first one is by Helen Keller. “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched. They must felt with the heart.” the second one is by Charles M. Schulz. “All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.” I think both statements are very true for me.
