I’m super excited about my February release. I always love having a book release in February because it’s the month of love, and people are in the mood for a little romance. I really enjoyed writing The Engagement Bargain and had a fascinating time exploring the suffragist movement. It’s shocking to realize that women have had the vote for less than 100 years!

A wife and mother of three, Sherri’s hobbies include collecting mismatched socks, discovering new ways to avoid cleaning, and standing in the middle of the room while thinking, “Why did I just come in here?” A reformed pessimist and recent hopeful romantic, Sherri has a passion for writing. Her books are fun and fast-paced, with plenty of heart and soul. Write to Sherri at P.O. Box 116, Elkhorn, NE, 68022, email at sherri@sherrishackelford.com or visit sherrishackelford.com.
Okay Sherri, I am ready to read this one! I Love romance books and I really enjoy Christmas Romances starting in November but now I am ready for others and this one sounds like one I am really going to like! Can hardly wait to read the rest of the story!
Connie…I love those Christmas books as well, but there’s something about the turn of the year that gets ya’ thinking about something different 🙂
I do love a great historical romance! There are not enough from this time period. I’m looking forward to reading it!!
I wish more people enjoyed historical romances–it’s a genre that’s always hanging by a thread.
Thank you for the excerpt, Sherri. A good set-up for the story and a good hook. I will definitely be looking for THE ENGAGEMENT BARGAIN.
Women were “allowed” to take care of a man’s house, have and raise his children, take responsibility for running the farm, ranch, or business with him or in his absence, and take care of him when he was ill. Women showed themselves more than capable of doing all of those things and doing them well. Unfortunately, men were willing to share or delegate the work and responsibilities, but none of the benefits.
The women who stood up to fight for those rights were brave souls. Thanks for sharing this story with us. I hope it’s release goes well.
‘willing to delegate the work but not the benefits’
Mmmm Hmmm! Imagine that 🙂 Those men!
Thank you for the wonderful preview.
Mary, Thanks for stopping by!
