Housekeeping Tips–From the Dog

wet-catwet-cat-4Here at Petticoats and Pistols we’re always thinking of our readers. When we hear something that’s great, that improves our lives, we want to share. Here’s a method for cleaning the toilet and giving your cat a bath that is a real timesaver.

1. Put seat and lid of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl.

2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.

3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close the lid.

You may need to stand on the lid.

5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a ‘power-wash’ and ‘rinse’.

wet-cat26. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door.

7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can and quickly lift the seat and lid.

8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off.

9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean.

  1. Too funny. Of course after nursing all the scratches my husband had after the last attempt to was our cats, it actually sounds good. The dog better watch out though. One of ours doesn’t like baths and opened a 6 inch cut on my son last bath she got. My husband hasn’t fared much better. Unfortunately, she won’t fit in the toilet. At this point it would be tempting.

I am going to be sharing this with a lot of friends. Thanks for the smiles.

  2. That is the funniest idea I’ve ever heard. I have 2 adult cats and would NEVER consider this. If I had started it when they were kittens, that’s different. But not as adults! Right now, I have one asleep on the bed and the other spread across my lap. Cats are just weird. No wonder this is from “the dog!”

  3. roflmao Of course I loved that! I had to wash a 5 or 6 week feral kitten that had been covered in motor oil. You ca not imagine the sounds such a little critter can make!!!

  4. Oh Mary.. thank you so much for sharing these great pictures.. Just what one needs on a rainy Friday afternoon…
