When You Need a Hero….Day 4

Tanya’s  picks:  I got to spend some righteous time with a whole corral-full of real-life cowboys on our wagon train trip around the Tetons a summer ago. Meeting Garrett Snow, I was so enthralled with his hero/book cover potential that hubby advised me to tell him WHY I was taking his picture so often, to assure him I wasn’t a stalker. He was downright flattered. Indeedy, I can see him some day starring in a book of mine entitled Snow in Summer…sigh.

As for Sam Elliott, he’s the quintessential cowboy of every Western woman’s dreams. Y’all out there will have to agree. That voice of Rocky-Mountain gravel, that sly,  shy and sexy all at once smile peeking forth from the depths of that glorious mustache. ..Sigh.

Hero #13

Mary’s picks:   When I need a hero tall, dark and handsome are so easy that I have to fight it. I usually lose.

Here’s one where I let a blonde rule the day. I see this guy as Tom Linscott. My hero from Sharpshooter in Petticoats and one of my favorite heroes ever.

And the other hero is Lee Horseley. Remember him from Guns of Paradise? I loved that show. I remember Lee being quoted as saying he’d sworn to never do another TV show. And then they offered him a cowboy and he couldn’t say no.

He’s the perfect tall, dark and handsome cowboy.

Hero No. 15

  1. oooo #13 wins, hands down!!!

  2. I have to go with #13. It is hard to beat a REAL guy!

    Peace, Julie

  3. I’ll pick #13. He’s got a lovely smile!

  4. Got to pick Sam #14. I love his voice.

  5. Goodness, I thought fall meant cooler temperatures, but it’s been right down HOT here this week. Must be all the hunky cowboys.

I’m in a quandry today because it goes against all I believe not to vote for Sam Elliot. I’ve loved him since I first saw THE SHADOW RIDERS. But I have to vote for a Wyoming cowboy (I’d never be allowed home if I didn’t). And it’s certainly not a hardship with a hunk like Garrett Snow. :o)

So, my vote is for #13.

    –Kirsten

  6. #14

  7. I’m going with #13. He looks just like he could star in a cowboy movie or something. That’s so funny about you always taking his picture.

It was hard not to vote for Sam. Have always enjoyed watching him-and who doesn’t love that voice. Sam seems like the quite type, but when he talks people listen.

  8. #13 He is such a cutie! This was the toughest choice yet for me. It was tough to not vote for Sam and Hero 16 is hot!

  9. #13 is looking pretty good to me.

  10. #14 I enjoy Sam Elliott in everything that he does. My favorite is his role in Prancer as the gruff, overwhelmed, widowed father. Love that gravelly voice. I envy Katherine Ross! He’s my number 1 hero.

  11. #13 here too. Funny how “real” appeals more than a shinny, too good to be true image. Sam Elliott isn’t bad either.

  12. #14 and #15 I was to hard to pick between the two so I guess I would have to say both ride on the same horse with me

Thanks for such a great time here on Petticoats and Pistols
    Melinda

  13. Definitely #14. Wonderful post. Thanks.

  14. I love Sam Elliott but I am going to pick #15.

  15. Wow that voice and his demeanor….I have to vote for #14

  16. There is no doubt about this one it has to be Sam #14. He is one of my favorite heros, his voice is to die for. Love him.

  17. If I were voting, I’d have to go with #15 because that’s Lee Horsley in Paradise, my all time favorite show. If it weren’t for that, I’d vote for #13. Real life heroes are the best 🙂

  18. My hubby met Sam and Katherine many times during his years as a wildland firefighter in Malibu CA and he says they are The Nicest People Ever. Good to know he’s worth our admiration. And Katherine’s truly gorgeous, he remembers.

  19. #13 for sure so down to earth 🙂

  20. #14 for me. Love Sam Elliott. 🙂

  21. I am really enjoying this week…kudos ladies.:-) Another hard decision today..but I will pick #13.

  22. Oh, having a hard time deciding today lol. I’m picking #16 but imagining that he has Sam’s voice lol. And wanted to add that I really enjoyed Time Plains Drifter.

  23. Oh boy #16 has my heart a fluttering… 😀

  24. #13 Even his eyes are smiling!

  25. #14–The Love of my Life! Sam Elliott : )

  26. Has to be # 14. I love his voice!

  27. Oh my so many hot hunks to choose from but #15 looks just enough dangerous to be fun!

  28. #13…is my choice…but the others look good too.

  29. It’s interesting reading why everyone picked the one they did. Of course any man looks good to someone who doesn’t have one. lol Now if I could just be chosen and win Log Cabin Christmas that would make a great early Birthday gift (the 8th). LOL

  30. Going with # 15 (although truthfully because of his Archie Goodwin role).

  31. Im going with 13, hes just a cutie!! He looks honest, sweet, and would be so fun to ride horses with(: a guy who will teach ya how to ride them instead of just throwing ya on up there! love it!

  32. 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(((:

  33. VOTING IS CLOSED

Come back tomorrow for the finale and find out which hero gets to be top dog. We’ll also give away a $25 Amazon gift card and a 2012 cowboy calendar.

  34. If I’d had a vote, it would have been Sam. One of my favorite Sacketts–er cowboys.
