I’m so happy, happy to FINALLY share TO MARRY A TEXAS OUTLAW with you! This release will make me twenty published books and short stories. Whew! I can’t believe it.

It seemed this third book of Men of Legend, the story you’ve all waited so patiently for, would never come. (A watched pot never boils.) I think you might find it well worth the wait. At least I’m hoping that’s the case.

At last, Luke Weston has the location for the man who pinned a federal judges’ murder on him. He’s searched for Ned Sweeney for two long years and finally has his location. He only has a one-hour window before Sweeney goes underground again. He’s riding to Dead Horse Creek when he sees a woman bound and gagged underneath a scrawny tree and covered in blood. He’s torn about what to do but his honor won’t let him ride on.

The woman doesn’t know her name, where she belongs, or how she got there. But she’s mad enough to whip someone.

Deliverance Canyon is close by. He decides to take her there to Tally Shannon and the other woman hiding out.

I often think of how scary it would be to wake up and not know who I was or where I lived. You would have no starting point or nothing to relate anything to. I can’t imagine. But Josie somehow keeps her sense of humor and stays optimistic for the most part. She trusts the outlaw Luke Legend and feels safe with him.

As pieces of her life slowly start to emerge, she falls deeper in love with Luke. It’s at that point she begins to pray she never finds out who she is because she senses it will change things between them. Something tells her that her past is riddled with bad people and she’s found contentment with Luke and hates the thought of that ending.

Despite the seriousness of her situation, she is so funny and sweet and I love that. I think you will too. But that doesn’t mean she’ll be a doormat for anyone. She’s quite a fighter.

I think that’s what Luke likes most about her. She takes whatever life throws at her and finds a silver lining.

This story is full of twists and turns and Luke will steal your heart—all over again. Will he clear his name and get to claim the Legend name? So many forces are working against him. And Josie too. You’ll just have to see. All I can say is you’d better hold on tight.

Many secrets are revealed, and love claimed. By the end of the book, Luke and the Legend family will forever remain etched in your memory.

In Texas some legends are born, some are made

…and some are created by destiny.

In this story, the legend is that whoever sleeps beneath the Texas star will find his true worth. Luke does that in this story and gets the affirmation he seeks.

  2. Linda- I’m so excited this book has finally arrived, it’s one of the best books, if not your BEST, yet. When you ask about a Legend it one we’ve read, I think about Jodi Thomas’s Whispering Mountain Series And whoever goes up and sleeps up on top of the mountain will have their destiny revealed.
    I’m also excited to know the Legend Men will make appearances in your new series. I just love The Legend family. Such warm Hearts and undying love they share, not only for themselves, but for the unfortunate that also need a place to call Home and a family to love them. You have a great day writing, love you!!     • Good morning, Tonya…….You know, when I think about stories set around a legend, Jodi’s Whispering Mountain books automatically come to mind. That was such a great series. Yes, my Legend men will carry over into the next series called Texas Outlaw Legends. Luke and Josie start a mail order bride service for men and women who have to live in the shadows. I’m really excited about that. Book #1 of it will release late next year.

  3. This is an awesome book and I’m so excited for you and it’s release. Will Rodgers is one of my favorite real legends. I grew up hearing many stories about him from his grandson, one of my father’s best friends, Kem Rodgers. Even though he was a real person he always seemed like a legend to me.

    A very intriguing Texas Legend that would be awesome for you to intertwine into a book is the Headless Horseman.

    An amnesia book that I want to read sometime is The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson, it comes up as the #1 romance novel that involves amnesia.

    There is a legend here about Leather Man. He traveled every year in a circle until one year he did not. NO one knows who he was.

  5. Luke is delayed finding the man to clear his name to set him free when he comes upon “Rose”. Tied and having amnesia presents problems for Luke he cannot imagine.
    The story has a fast hard emotional ride with action that causes the tissues to come out. The tragedy to joy swings are intense. Remembering her name is Josie helps, but does it? The Legend men are throughout this one, especially Houston. The brothers with Sam try to get it All worked out. Luke getting shot almost does the reader in. Does he live to be a Legend? Did Josie really marry Sam? What does Stoker end up with? Is The Lone Star finding peace? The is an outstanding end to this series.
    Congratulations to the author Linda Broday for another masterpiece.

  6. Paul Bunyan, John Henry and Johnny Appleseed are American legends.
    Robin Hood and King Arthur are English legends.
    Kelpies, Selkies, and the Loch Ness Monster, all water creatures, are Scottish legends.
    Devil’s Tower in Wyoming has a variety of legends associated with it from different Indian tribes with the one common element often being that a bear chased someone or something up it and the clawing of the bear created Devil’s Tower. Various tribes have different names for the tower but many have the word “bear” in it.

    • I forgot to answer the amnesia question. Three books that come to mind are “Someone to Watch Over Me” by Lisa Kleypas, “The Amorous Education of Celia Seaton” by the late Miranda Neville, and “Open Country” by Kaki Warner.

      • Hi Linda. I hope you’re having a good day too. You give me too much credit. I’ve always loved mythology and I was an English major so King Arthur is all over the Middle Ages. As for selkies and kelpies, that comes from living in Scotland, and the Devil’s Tower in Wyoming from a trip we took passing through there trying to follow the Lewis and Clark Expedition’s trail.

  8. I have always liked books that have some sort of amnesia in it. Don’t know why! Maybe I like the moment when all things come to light and it is either a yay or boo for what comes after. Haha! I’m sure it’s a good thing. 😉 Anyways, I always love your heroes and the stories you wrap them up in.

  10. The series sounds fascinating Linda. Congrats on # 20. Two books about amnesia that I read someone mentioned already, Lisa Kleypas’s Someone To Watch Over Me and Khaki Warner’s Open Country. Legends I think of are Johnny Appleseed, Loch Ness Monster. There are many more only I can’t remember them now. 🙂

  12. Congratulations Linda. Having twenty published books is a wonderful achievement. Here in Kentucky Daniel Boone is a legend and in my hometown a Civil War hero stayed in a local hotel. James Andrews spent some time in Flemingsburg, KY and he was was portrayed by Fess Parker in a Walt Disney movie called The Great Locomotive Chase. James Andrews led a group of Union Soldiers in a military raid from Georgia to Tennessee. They were successful in damaging the Conferate Railroad and were pursued by the Rebels on foot and in locomotives for almost 90 miles before being stopped. Flemingsburg was even called by name in the movie so this has always been exciting to me!
