Jodi’s back for another Ransom Canyon Giveaway. YeeHaw!!!
Rustler’s Moon
I’ve always wanted to write a book about a woman on the run. As I drive through small towns on the back roads of Texas, I often think, “This is it! Anyone could disappear here!”
My husband and I decided to explore Florida while I was at a conference with Debbie Macomber. On my trip, the characters of Rustler’s Moon were talking in my head, and I couldn’t wait to write the story.
- Do you prefer small towns or big cities?
- Does the idea of “getting lost” appeal to you or leave you frightened?
To enter for a chance to win a copy of the second book in the Ransom Canyon series, leave a comment below. Winner will be selected on Monday, June 19.
I have lived in big cities and currently live in a small town. I enjoy the small town atmosphere but I miss the shopping and dining that can be found in a big city.
As far as ‘getting lost’, it doesn’t appeal to me at all.
Blessings,
Cindy W.

As far as ‘getting lost’, it doesn’t appeal to me at all. I do however love to get lost between the covers of a good book. 🙂

Love getting lost in a good book too!
I like both settings. I have lived in a city and a small town. Currently I live in a town somewhere in between. I am always getting lost. I always manage.
Thanks, Debra, for sharing!
Getting lost scares me. I live in a suburb of Dallas, so I think I have the best of both worlds. if I go east, it’s country, if I go west, I am in the city.
I can get lost driving in Dallas!
Good morning Jodi- I love small towns over big cities. I grew up in a bigger town in Texas, Stephenville, but I moved to a small rural farming town in Kansas and love it. Getting lost is so much fun because you often discover something you would not have seen if you would’ve stayed on the main road. There are God’s treasures hidden everywhere we just have to go & explore them.
Love your philosophy about getting lost!
i live in a suburb of a big city (chicago) you get use to the noise and traffic at night, I would think a small town would be too quiet for me and I would have to make some noise, as far as getting lost, I hate getting lost, thank god for GPS. I don’t know how we did it with them big maps back in the early 80’s and 90’s lol,
GPS is a definite lifesaver!
I love small towns. I’ve lived in small towns in Texas, Kentucky and Tennessee. I’ve also lived in Memphis, Amarillo and El Paso. I do like the convenience of living in a small town that’s close to a big city. I often think of picking up and getting lost and starting over. I couldn’t do it in reality because of family, no funds for it and being chronically ill. Oh in many ways I wish I could do it this very minute.
Stephanie, thanks for sharing!
I have no sense of direction so getting lost is a very real possibility. I’ve always lived in the suburbs which isn’t too bad but I’ve worked int he city. I tend to not go exploring lol. I probably would be happier in a small town.
I’ve lost my sense of direction many times!
I prefer small towns… like the open spaces… it being less crowded.
Thanks, Colleen!
I am a small town girl so I naturally prefer small towns. I have lived in small towns my entire life. And as far as getting lost…. the thought is an unpleasant one to me, for sure!!!
I love the name of your small town!
I have always lived in a large city. I would not be able to handle being lost.
Thanks, Ellie!
I lived in a large city all my life and now I live in a medium sized one which is better. I could live in a s mall town but need excellent medical amenities. I don’t enjoy getting lost so I am careful.
Thanks for sharing, Anne.
Small towns would be unique for me and provide me with much needed peace and tranquility compared to where I live now, but it would be a big adjustment I don’t need shopping or restaurants, just a library, and a supermarket.
Nicely said, Pearl.
I have dreamed about living in a small town and how life would be since it is a huge change in my lifestyle, but having major health issues for the past 5 years necessitates excellent doctors and health facilities.
That is a great point, Sharon!
I prefer small town. I grew up in a small town and now live in the city. The city is so congested – too much of everything.
Thanks, Mary!
I love small town living!
Thanks, Britney!
Love small towns. I would love to just get lost somewhere for awhile.
That sounds like some of my characters, Sherry!
I’m a farm girl through and through. But, I like being only a two hour drive from 100,000 plus population centers with all their ammenities.
Thanks for sharing, Alice!
I adore getting lost and exploring small towns. I would love to stay “hidden” in one!
That definitely sounds inviting, Susan.
I love small towns but I am not much on getting lost anymore. When I was younger we use to go out just to get lost. We would flip a coin to see which way we would turn and I was a lot of fun back then but not anymore.
What a fun idea!
