Cover Reveal and Giveaway!

Linda BrodayWoo-Hoo! I’m excited to show the cover of my May release, Twice a Texas Bride. I love this cover and the expression on the couple’s faces. So much love in the way he’s touching her and she’s leaning into him. I cried when I first saw it.

For those who don’t know, this is the second book in my Bachelors of Battle Creek series.

The Story Continues……..

Middle brother, Rand Sinclair has washed his hands of any hope of love. Everyone always leaves, always betrays. His heart can’t take anymore pain. He’s come to know two certainties…He’ll never fall in love again. Never marry.

The former saloon owner has sold the Lily of the West and bought a ranch. Rand finally has the land he’s dreamed of owning and that’s enough.

But when he discovers a woman and little boy hiding out in one of his outbuildings in the bitter cold, he can’t turn his back. He offers them safe haven and the warmth of his fire- nothing more than anyone else would do.

Callie Quinn is on the run from a killer outlaw who has vowed to see her dead and take the boy. She’ll die before she turns the six-year-old over to the man who’ll destroy him. Fulfilling a deathbed promise consumes her.

Twice a Texas BrideSlowly, Rand uncovers her secrets and realizes the only way to keep her safe is to push all his chips to the center of the table. He risks everything…his name…and his heart…for the woman who’s awakened a fierce hunger for love.

Locked in a desperate battle to rid themselves of the outlaw’s special brand of terror, Rand reaches deep inside for every weapon in his arsenal.

Whoever wants to harm her will have to go through him.

And he’ll go through hell for her.

This is a story of learning to trust again and finding a way to heal past hurts and deception and looking to the future.

When the three brothers–Cooper,Rand and Brett–stand as one as they have throughout their lives, no one can defeat them. Only now, the stakes are higher with the lives of two children and a motherless babe hanging in the balance.

Will Rand and Callie survive long enough to claim a future?

The release date for TWICE A TEXAS BRIDE is May 5. It’s available for preorder now. Click HERE to order from Amazon or HERE to get it from B&N.

Do you find stories with children in them much deeper or would you prefer it only to contain adults? For myself, I think a child/children adds so much more emotion and depth. All three of my Bachelor of Battle Creek series contain children.

I’m giving away a copy of the first book, Texas Mail Order Bride, to one person who comments.

  1. I love the cover Linda! Will have to pick up a copy in May. 🙂

Don’t include me in the giveaway as I already have a copy of Texas Mail Order Bride.

    Have a great day!

    Smiles & Blessings,
    Cindy W.

    • Hi Cindy…….Thanks for coming by. I’m glad you like the Twice a Texas Bride cover. I do think it’s exceptional, but I may be like a mother with her children and always think they’re pretty even if they’re not. LOL I hope you enjoyed Texas Mail Order Bride.

Wishing you a ton of smiles!

  2. The cover is lovely! 🙂 And I do love it when children are involved in books. I don’t think I fully realized it until I was writing my third (out of four) book and there are children in each one. I guess I really do like writing about them. 😀

    • Hi Faith…….Thanks for stopping by. Great to see you. It’s strange but I used to hate books with children in them. I just wanted the romance, the hero and heroine falling in love and living happily ever after. I thought kids cluttered up everything. My thinking changed when I was in my late 40s. Now, I can’t imagine writing a story without at least one child in it.

      Have a great day!

    • Good Morning Cathy…..Thanks for coming. And big thanks for saying that you loved Mail Order Bride! You don’t know how much those simple words mean to me. I’m really struggling with the first book of a new series.

Wishing you a day full of sunshine and happiness!

    • Good Morning Janine………Thanks for stopping by. Always great to see your name pop up. I’m glad the cover and blurb for my upcoming book sparked interest. I do think this story tops the first book. There was so much more to Rand Sinclair than I showed in Mail Order Bride.

Sending lots of smiles to you!

  3. Your story sounds wonderful, Linda! And the cover is gorgeous! Love the purple in the sky. I think having children in stories can really add a lot. They tug on the heartstrings, add humor and charm, and do a good job of revealing the true nature of the characters in how they respond to them.

I don’t have children in all my stories, but they certainly appear in many of them. In fact, my next release, A Worthy Pursuit, has three children who play a significant role in the plot. Maybe it’s because I have three kids of my own, but I always tend to get more emotionally involved when a child’s welfare is at stake in a story.

    • Hi Karen……Thank for your compliment on my cover. I think you’re right about children serving as a plot device in some cases. They can show so much about our characters. And the emotional depth they add is just something I want to capitalize on. So far, I only have book since publishing that didn’t have a child in it.

Wishing you much success with your wonderful stories!

  4. Linda, I love this cover. You’re right– the expressions on their faces is very different and emotional. It’s just a beautiful cover, and I can’t wait to read it!

    • Hi Cheryl…….Thanks for coming by, Filly sister. Always nice to see you. I’m glad you like my new cover and the blurb about the story. For those who’ve read the first one, I think they’ll like this second on even better.

Wishing you lots of success with your stories.

  5. I agree with you that children in a story often add depth and warmth. Interaction with the children brings out an additional side to the main characters.

    • Hi Cheryl C……….Thanks for coming by. I’m glad you agree that children add so much more to a story. But then, they add a lot to us in our real lives. I can’t imagine not having my children.

      Have a wonderful day!

  6. yes i like children in books,,a lot of marriages start with children in tow,,its hard to bond with another persons child but it can be done,,my bio father was killed in a accident when my mom was pregnant with me and my sister was 2 yrs old,,I was 5 months old when she remarried,,and he was the only Daddy I ever knew,,I named my daughter after him,,we were so very close

    • Hi Vickie……Thanks for coming by! I’m happy to see you. How nice that you got a wonderful, loving father despite losing yours. And I’m glad you got those years with him. Now, everytime you look at your daughter you can remember the man who meant so much to you.

Have a wonderful day, my dear!

  7. That is a beautiful cover! 🙂 I do enjoy books with babies and kids in them… I do find that they can definitely add more to the story.
No need to enter me for the contest.

Children are the spice of life I’ve heard and I do think it’s true. They are just precious. I guess it’s a good thing I like writing about them because everyone here today prefers them in stories.

Maxie > mac262(at)me(dot)com <

    • Hi Maxie…….Thanks for your wonderful comments. I’m glad you like the cover for my next one. Children really do make great additions to a story. Yes, I hear you on westerns and our cowboys! Can’t imagine anything else.

  13. Chiming in late to wish you congrats on the cover reveal! It’s beautiful! And the stories sound amazing. I love children in stories, to make it more real. I will have to get this on Amazon for my Kindle, so please let us know when it’s available, if it’s before the release date. So excited for you and this series!

    • Hi Charlene……..Late or not, I’m glad you came. Also glad you like the cover for the next one. You’re not nearly as excited as I am about this series. It has been sheer magic. I don’t think Amazon releases the book early. At least they didn’t with the first one. Children do make a story really special. I love yours with them in it. You write babies and children really well.

  14. Congratulations on your upcoming release. I love the cover on this, just beautiful ! I absolutely believe childtren in a book add so much more to the story. They definately enhance my life and the stories I read. After all as the mother of 12 I couldn’t answer any other way ! My family is my life !

    • Hi Deanne…….Thank you for reading my blog and commenting. Wow, twelve kids! Oh my goodness! I don’t see how you have much for reading. I’m sure there’s never a dull moment. I do think children in stories can enhance and add another colorful layer. Thank you again for coming.

    • Hi Deanna…….Thank you for reading my blog and commenting. I’m glad my cover caught your eye. Twice a Texas Bride comes out in May and I’ll be doing some giveaways so be watching.

    • Hi Shirley…….Love your comment. Book covers really can help sell books, especially if they’re well-done. The art department at Sourcebooks Publishing is outstanding. They tailor the covers to match every story. They added the run down farm house to mine as well as the brass key ring hanging at Rand’s side because those things are key to my story. Thank you for coming!

    • Hi Wyla………Thank you so much. Your comment meant a lot to me. I’m really glad to have made another fan. I’ll strive to keep you by writing good stories that I know you’ll love. I believe Twice a Texas Bride will captivate you and get you ready for Brett’s in December.

  15. Love the cover and I like reading westerns . I love all books but westerns and books about native americans are some of my favorites. Followed by mysteries and romance.

    • Hi Mary……Thank you for reading my blog and leaving a comment. I appreciate it. I’m glad you enjoy western romance. Interesting that you said you like books about Native Americans. My Bachelor series features three brothers and the youngest has Native American blood. His story is book three and it’ll come out in December.

      Thank you again for coming.
